Falun Dafa Practitioners Meditate in Front of the Chinese Consulate in Melbourne to Call for an End to Persecution (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On July 20 2002, from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., Falun Dafa practitioners from Melbourne meditated in front of the Chinese Consulate to commemorate the thousands of Falun Gong practitioners who have been tortured to death by Jiang's criminal regime over the last three years. They also protested the Jiang regime's usurpation of state power, violation of national law, and going against the will of the people to carry out the brutal persecution and illegal suppression of Falun Gong practitioners.

In reply to reporters from ABC (Australian Broadcast Television Station) during on-the-spot interviews, a Falun Dafa practitioner said, "According Falun Dafa Information Center, 438 practitioners are verified to have been tortured to death as of today, but according to estimates of government insiders, the actual death toll exceeded 1600 by the end of 2001. Those who send names and photos of murdered practitioners to Minghui.net risk being arrested and put into jail. Over a hundred thousand practitioners have been sent to forced labor camps and prisons to suffer mental and physical abuse and mistreatment."

At present, the severity of the persecution in China far exceeds people's imagination. The aim of our peaceful activity is to attract the attention of the world's people, and awaken all of humanity's kindness and human nature. Also we want to tell those who do not know Falun Gong that Falun Gong practitioners live by the principle of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance," and are peaceful and kind-hearted. They benefit both physically and mentally through practicing "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" in their daily lives, which can only bring happiness to people.
