Falun Dafa Practitioner Liu Dongfen, Female, Brutally Killed At Ren County Detention Center, Hebei Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Liu Dongfen, a 52 year old female was originally from Tianjin City and lived in Hetou Village, Ren County in Hebei Province. Since April 25, 1999, when the Jiang's regime started persecuting Falun Gong, Liu had been repeatedly held in the regime's brainwashing facilities. However, she steadfastly resisted the persecution of Falun Gong. On February 27, 2002, she was talking to people about the truth of Falun Gong while in Zhanglu Village, Nanhe County when the police grabbed her and took her to the Nanhe County Detention Center. She was later transferred to the Ren County Detention Center. During her detention she went on hunger strikes several times to protest her severe treatment. She was tortured to death at the detention center around 9 a.m. on July 17, 2002. The police tried to spread rumors that Liu Dongfen died while trying to escape from the detention center and was electrocuted by the electrified wires surrounding the detention center. Liu's body remained in the County hospital morgue. Upon her family's request the coroner examined the body. The coroner didn't think that she had died from electric shock as the authorities had claimed. Instead, he said her death was due to trauma. Yet, the coroner refused to issue any written certificate documenting the medical facts out of fear of the consequences that might befall him should he present a finding that was different from the higher authorities version of the event. Eyewitnesses said that injuries were found all over her body, many parts of her head were swollen and covered with bloodstains, one side of her body was badly bruised. The murderers were afraid that the news of Liu's death would leak out, so they pressured all levels of the government not to allow Falun Dafa practitioners to leave the village.

Family and friends of Liu Dongfen urged local police to make public the true cause of her death and bring the murderers to justice.
