By a practitioner from China

(Clearwisdom.net) Having seen some fellow practitioners failing to get rid of the attachment of fear and thus failing to catch up with the progress of the Fa-rectification, I would like to talk about my own experiences based on the path that I have taken.

Why are some people unable to break away from the control of fear, even after a long period of time? Even with daily Fa-study and not neglecting to look inside themselves, why is it that they just can't break away? My personal understanding is that perhaps they haven't found the root of their fears.

When we went to Tiananmen Square, we did so without any fear. When we do Fa-rectification work, if our minds are as pure, righteous and sacred as when we went to Tiananmen Square, we do very well. If I were on Tiananmen Square, with its tight security and crawling with plainclothes agents, would I be scared? I would not. Yet in a relatively not-so-evil environment, how could I be afraid? If I were to go to Beijing, I would remember to "freeze" the evil beings with righteous thoughts, and yet while doing truth-clarification work, why is it that I forget to look at problems with righteous thoughts? We can rectify the Fa in any environment, and anything related to Fa-rectification is important, sacred and magnificent. We should not be obstructed by human notions, thus turning sacred matters into something not so sacred. We should always maintain the state of Dafa disciples doing Dafa work, and we should always be magnificent Gods who save sentient beings and safeguard the Fa of the cosmos.

In the past, I had let go of life and death and stepped forward to safeguard the Fa. With righteous enlightenment, I was also able to turn arduous suffering into a test that was easy to pass. However, as I continued to join the powerful current of Fa-rectification, I discovered that every test was so difficult to pass. Amidst validating the Fa and truth-clarification, I often faced one difficult choice after another, between choosing everyday people's principles and Fa-principles. I often faced one life-and-death tribulation after another. I truly realized that letting go of life and death is not the end of one's cultivation but a new starting point. Despite having made breakthroughs many times with my righteous enlightenment and righteous belief, and having witnessed the power of righteous belief on many occasions, I nonetheless always had the feeling that I was living in an atmosphere of high pressure and anxiety.

With one fear after another, and one breakthrough after another, the Fa-principles finally manifested in front of me. "As a Dafa disciple, a particle of this Great Fa of the cosmos, you should do that. When people damage the Fa... of course, no one can damage the Fa--how could the Fa of the cosmos be damaged by human beings? No one is able to damage it." (from Teaching the Fa at the Western US Fa Conference, Guiding the Voyage) Dafa is composed of countless particles. I am a Dafa disciple, one of the particles, and therefore a part of Dafa. Nobody is able to damage Dafa, so nobody is able to damage me--once I broke through this obstacle, the magnificent feeling that I had was beyond description, and my fear seemed to disappear immediately. My understanding is that as long as we truly melt ourselves into the Fa, we are connecting with all the righteous forces of the cosmos. Before, I was a single, individual particle confronting the evil, and I rectified the Fa based on the starting point of my individual cultivation--that's why it had been so difficult. However, my foundation now rests on the basis of a whole body. Dafa has boundless power, so whether my cultivation level is high or low, as long as my mind is on the Fa, I will surely have the power of Dafa. Since nobody is able to damage Dafa, and a true Dafa particle is a part of Dafa, nobody can damage me. At this point I finally truly understood the inner meaning of 'a Dafa particle'.

We are living in delusion of the human world. As we validate the Fa and clarify the truth in the environment of the evil persecution, we can easily form a concept: the notion of being persecuted. This notion was unconsciously imposed upon us, in such a manner that we have not been able to detect it. When I enlightened to this, I was shocked by the old forces' deviousness.

The overall situation and manifestation in the human world of the evil's persecution toward Dafa have trapped so many practitioners inside a notion that they can't break free of. They regard themselves as passively being beaten up and persecuted, instead of regarding themselves as Fa-rectification period Dafa disciples. If we can break free of this kind of thinking, we'll see that the old forces have been building up momentum by first creating the persecution and then intensifying it, to impose this notion of "Dafa practitioners are the ones who are being persecuted" upon us. If we don't get rid of this notion, we are then taking all of this passively, and the old forces will have excuses to continue persecuting us. This is equivalent to acknowledging this persecution. Looked at it from another angle, if we regard ourselves as the ones who are being persecuted, instead of as Dafa disciples on a mission, we will not be able to completely eliminate the attachment of fear and negatively impact the progress of Fa-rectification.

In "Teaching the Fa at the Washington, D.C. International Fa Conference", Teacher said: "The very final stage of Fa-rectification is taking place." What does Fa-rectification rectify? It rectifies everything that is not righteous and everything that is degenerated. In the very final stage of Fa-rectification, we shouldn't have the thought that we're to be the ones that are persecuted at all. To rectify the Fa is to take an active stance. Dafa practitioners are rectifying the Fa, and the old forces are the subjects of Fa-rectification; so they should be taking all this passively, and they should be the ones who are afraid. Plus, in "Fa-Lecture at the Conference in Florida", Teacher has also confirmed that Dafa practitioners have the upper hand. Do we still not believe in Teacher? We are rectifying the Fa and playing the leading roles. Let all of us Dafa practitioners form one body and come together to accomplish the mission of Fa-rectification.

Recently in Fa-rectification cultivation, I have had a nervous feeling, which didn't appear to be fear. Although I was able to remove it with righteous thoughts, there still seemed to exist a root that nourished it, and it kept interfering with me in different forms. I was not able to find the root when I looked inward to search for it. A while ago as I was studying Teacher's "Touring North America to Teach the Fa", Teacher's words: "ordinary human persecution against human beings" jolted me awake.

Teacher is rectifying the Fa in the human world, and we are assisting Teacher in his journey in this world while we are also living in humans' delusion. Because we are living in delusion, we are most easily deluded by illusion. This illusion is the foundation for all attachments. Ordinary humans are all deluded by illusions. For us as practitioners, the un-removed human mentalities will also cause us to be momentarily deluded by illusion. And that is when the evil takes advantage of our loopholes.

In "Teaching the Fa at the Washington, D.C. International Fa Conference (Guiding the Voyage)", Teacher said: "Today's humans have in fact had tribulations arranged for them by this system of old forces at different levels, and humans have been controlled by the old forces at different levels. This is why they've become so forceful, why they dare to do things to cultivators, and why they dare to be disrespectful to Dafa." Cultivators are at a higher realm than ordinary humans. If ordinary humans don't have these elements behind them, they are very feeble before cultivators. It is precisely because they are controlled by evil beings that they dare to persecute Dafa disciples. So after we have eliminated the evil elements behind ordinary humans with our righteous thoughts, how can ordinary humans restrain great cultivators?

The evil's display has become even more rampant, but that does not mean that the evil has become stronger. Quite the opposite, they are heading towards elimination at an even faster speed. After the evil behind them has been eliminated, the police and government officials in China can also be saved. Before a cultivator, everybody is equal. At this time, if you are still like you used to be, regarding and treating ordinary humans with the mentality of your enduring persecution and resisting the evil-- you are then being deluded by illusion. It looks as if no change has taken place on the surface, and yet the inner meaning has already changed. It is precisely because your mind has not been righteous that the evil has taken advantage of your loopholes, that your xinxing has failed to catch up with the progress of Fa-rectification, that you have stubbornly held on to past experiences when dealing with things.

After breaking free of this false illusion of an "ordinary human persecution against human beings," my righteous belief toward Dafa can no longer be made to falter, and the root of my attachments is gone.

The above are several of my experiences in breaking through the attachment of fear. Please kindly correct me if anything is improper.

In closing, let's study again Teacher's words: "As a Dafa disciple, everything of yours is formed by Dafa and is the most righteous, and it can only be that [you] rectify everything that is not righteous." (from Dafa is Indestructible, Essentials for Further Advancement II)
