Taiwan: Candlelight Vigil on July 20 in Hsinchu (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On July 20, 1999, Jiang's regime launched the brutal persecution on Falun Gong, but no deceitfulness will last in the face of the truth. The noble righteous thoughts and actions of Dafa practitioner were not destroyed by the propaganda of Jiang's regime, but instead, the words and actions of Dafa practitioners assimilating to "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" moved countless sentient beings and won worldwide support.

On July 20, 2002, Falun Gong practitioners all over the world held activities to commemorate those who sacrificed their lives for upholding the truth, to condemn the brutal persecution, and to call on people of the world to work together to end this vicious suppression of righteous belief and goodness.

On July 20, 2002, practitioners in Hsinchu, Taiwan held a candlelight vigil and a concert in Leechi Park. Mr. Guiyuan Cheng, city councilor of Hsinchu, gave the opening remarks. Mr. Cheng participated the SOS walk last year, and this is his second time in taking part in Falun Gong events. In his statement, Mr. Cheng praised the peacefulness of Falun Gong. He deeply believes that "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" will bring a glorious future for humankind. A moving 14-minute video about the persecution of Falun Gong was played after to opening remarks. Practitioners said that their goal was to awaken people, so that everyone can work together to end this persecution.

The commemoration activities concluded with the song "Falun Dafa is good."
