Persecution of Falun Dafa Practitioners in Wei County, Handan City, Hebei Province

After Jiang's regime began its illegal persecution of Falun Gong in July 1999, Wei County Political and Security Department Officials Zhao Kai and Lian Zhihe have instigated reckless brutal beatings of Falun Gong practitioners. The following stories describe just a few of these tragic cases.

One day, several people from the Political and Security Department, along with local police, secretly went to Hexia Village to illegally arrest a Falun Gong practitioner. When they arrived at the practitioner's home, without saying a word they proceeded to take the practitioner away forcefully. The practitioner's wife did not practice Falun Gong, but she knew her husband was a good person who had been arrested repeatedly without cause. She stepped forward to stop the illegal arrest, pleading from her heart for justice. The police officers ignored her and continued to violently take her husband away. Feeling hopeless and helpless, out of desperation the wife drank a cup of poison. She was sent to emergency rescue, but her mind and body were already greatly damaged. Wei County police and the Political and Security Department then forced family members to say that what happened to her was caused by "marital disputes," thus covering up their own criminal acts, and further deceiving the general public.

In 2002, the malicious persecution entered a new round of treachery. A practitioner was jailed in a detention center for telling the truth about the persecution. During the imprisonment, the practitioner suffered repeated inhuman treatments, being brutally beaten, force fed, handcuffed, and injected with nerve damaging drugs. After hunger striking for twenty-one days to protest the inhumane treatment, the practitioner lost consciousness, and his life was in great danger. After his release, his condition was extremely weak, and he had serious injuries to his head and face, causing deafness. He could not walk at all, and had to lie on the bed without moving. Even in this seriously weakened condition, around May, the police, acting on permission from the Political and Security Department, went to his home to arrest him again. They sent him to a labor camp, leaving his elderly mother red-eyed and sobbing beside his infirm old father. What a sad and chilling story.

In Beiluoying Village of Wei County, a female practitioner protested the inhumane treatment by hunger striking during her illegal detention. After her release, the local police came to her home. Because she was not at home at the time (later on she was arrested), her relatives, including her brothers and her neighbors who did not practice Falun Gong, were arrested and detained for two months. Each person was fined 5,000 Yuan, about ten months average wages. The criminal police are not only persecuting practitioners, but also hurting their relatives and neighbors. These kinds of cases also occurred at Wei Town and Boko Township.

A practitioner from Yuanbao was walking down the road when he was kidnapped by a malicious gangster led by Ma Heyin, and was sent to a detention center. Another practitioner from Yali was kidnapped from work as he was picking up his carpentry tools.

Under the persecution order of Jiang's regime, the police in Wei County stole property while ransacking practitioners' homes, extorted huge sums of money, brutally beat practitioners, kidnapped them at will, employed trickery to send them to labor camps, and frightened and broke up many happy families. After May 13, at least ten practitioners from Wei County were illegally sentenced to labor camps. Many practitioners were forced into homelessness to avoid persecution. Using many means of deception, plainclothes police officers would follow practitioners, try to disguise themselves as practitioners, or force practitioners' neighbors to monitor them. They underhandedly persecuted the Falun Gong practitioners at will.

To those who willfully persecute Falun Gong practitioners, we sincerely and seriously ask you to immediately stop, or you will not escape heaven's justice: "Good is rewarded with good, and evil is met with evil," is a heavenly principle that will ensure justice in the end.
