After a Husband Is Tortured to Death, His Wife Is Kidnapped Again
(Clearwisdom.net) Female Dafa practitioner Li Shuying from Yushu City, Jilin Province, was
illegally detained and sent to a forced labor camp for 12 months, and her term was extended for an
additional 12 months. On February 1, 2002, she returned home and found her husband Yue Kai dying as
a result of the torture he had suffered. Fifteen days later, Yu Kai died. He was just 29 years old.
He had been brutally tortured at the Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp, Changchun City, for about 100
days. Seeing that he was dying, the labor camp, in order to avoid being incriminated in this death,
allowed him to go home on May 15, 2002. He was practically carried out of the labor camp as he
couldn't walk by himself. At that time, the "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun
Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and
judiciary systems] of Yushu City, Jilin Province, launched a large-scale campaign to persecute
practitioners. Mass arrests were conducted for over forty hours. Over one hundred practitioners were
illegally kidnapped. In the afternoon of March 11, when Li Shuying returned home, she was kidnapped
by the local policemen Wang Yizhang, Zhao Guanghui and two others, who had been following her, all
from Yushu City Peiying Street Police Substation. They took away Dafa books and Teacher Li's
pictures. Li Shuying was then jailed, and on April 4, 2002, she was illegally sentenced to forced
labor camp again. She is currently being held at Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp, Changchun City. Li
Shuying has been on hunger strike since she was arrested. In the morning of May 9, 2002, when Li Shuying's two brothers went to visit her, the police at
the Heizuizi Labor Camp deliberately detained them and threatened them for 5 hours, forcing them to
take responsibility and assume the consequences of Li Shuying being on hunger strike. The police
forced them to sign some documents before they were released. The same thing happened to Han Yuzhu,
a female practitioner from Yushu City in Qingshan County who was tortured to death at the Weizigou
Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City. Han's family members were also forced to sign some documents.
However, then the policemen began to torture her with no conscience at all as though they were no
longer responsible. During her hunger strike, Li Shuying was transferred to Jilin Province Forced Labor Camp
Hospital. At the hospital, her family members asked the public procurator who worked there when she
would be released, and he replied: "she will never be released." To the time of the
posting of this article, Li Shuying has been on hunger strike for 100 days . Suffering alongside Li Shuying is another female Dafa practitioner Jin Min from Panshi City in
Jilin Province. She began a hunger strike around March 14, and was then sent to the Jilin Province
Labor Camp Hospital as well. As the Heizuizi labor camp couldn't afford their medical expenses they
brought them back. Her mother was forced to sign some documents related to taking responsibility and
assuming any consequences of her daughter's hunger strike. Other Dafa practitioners are suffering
similar forms of brutal persecution.
