Central News Agency Taipei, June 30 -- Chang Ching-His, the chairman of the Taiwan Falun Gong Association, pointed out tonight that since June 27, Falun Gong practitioners from Taiwan have been barred from entering Hong Kong at the Hong Kong Airport. At least 89 Taiwanese have been expelled. The Falun Gong Research Association protests the decisions made by the Hong Kong government.

The appeal statement from Taiwan Falun Gong Research Association to the Hong Kong government states that Falun Gong practitioners around the world are law-abiding citizens. All the appeals held in each country against the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners have been peaceful.

It states that there is no reason to restrict the entrance of Taiwanese practitioners under Hong Kong's "one country, two systems" policy. Falun Gong is legal in Hong Kong, and their activities had been approved by Hong Kong officials.

It also states that the expelled Taiwanese Falun Gong practitioners are all holding legal entrance permits issued by the Hong Kong government. To prepare for the activities being held in Hong Kong at this time, they had obtained approval after going through the legal procedures
