Police Beat Us, Fine Us and Ransack Our Drug Store

I am a Dafa disciple from Northern China. Since I remain determined in my practice of Falun Gong, I was forced to give up my job. Left with no salary, I opened a drug store to make a living.

At around 8:30 p.m. on June 17, 2002, two policemen came to my drug store and said that their supervisor wanted to talk to me. After I went with them, a supervisor from the political security section named Liu "met with me." At first, he seemed to be quite polite, however after a while he showed his true face, "It is stipulated in the law that no one is allowed to practice Falun Gong. Any Chinese citizen who dares to practice Falun Gong is violating the law."

I said, "I used to have diseases and could not recover no matter where I went to receive treatment. I fully recovered from them after I practiced Falun Gong." Policemen also forced my husband to search our drug store and confiscated all of my Dafa books. Chief Xiao of the police department also tried to find an excuse to search our home. By then my husband had started to see their sinister intentions and refused to cooperate with them. He said, "If you want to search, go ahead and do it yourself. I don't practice Falun Gong and I don't know where the books are."

They then beat my husband cruelly and said he was interfering with police doing their work. Supposedly because I shouted for them to stop, I was handcuffed. My husband felt chest pains and asked to take his medication. But a policeman said he was only pretending. Another, one who still had some kindness in his heart, saw this and gave my husband his medicine for his heart disease, and his symptoms began to subside.

The police detained us until the next day. In the end, they coerced my husband to help them search our home and confiscated my Dafa books and exercise tapes. Not until they had forced my husband to write a pledge not to appeal to the government and not to post posters and fined us 3000 Yuan (Chinese currency), did they release us (at 9:30 a.m. in the morning). Our drug store could not operate normally and the supervisors of my husband's workplace still said they would punish him.

I hereby appeal to all the kind-hearted people worldwide to pay attention to the persecution of Dafa disciples and our families.
