Handan Forced Labor Camp in Hebei Province Tortures Practitioners with the "Swallow Tiger Bench"

(Clearwisdom.net) On November 2, 2001 (Lunar Calendar September 16), at 10:24 am, and again on November 24, 2001 (Lunar Calendar October 8), from 4:16 PM to 7:12 PM, the sky darkened as the Handan City Labor Camp, in order to force practitioners to sign the "four statements," [statements renouncing Falun Dafa] used various extremely cruel torture methods. The practitioners who were tortured included, Gao Chao, Liu Yanbin, Gao Jinzhu, Liu Shulin, Liu Jianjie, Wang Yanlei, Wang Baojian, Lu Haiming, Liu Ruiqing, Zhang Zhenjian, and Zhao Guixiang.

Common criminals serving time in the labor camp were ordered to carry out the torture. These criminals were all extremely brutal, and included the following people:

Yang Jianbing from Wuan City, Handan: people called him the "Steel Muscle" (he had, to various extents, beaten more than half of the people imprisoned in the labor camp);

Zhou Shuxue, Wuan City: alias "Zhou Cang" (Zhou Cang is a historical figure);

Lu Shifeng: Lianfang First Construction Company, Congtai District, Handan City;

Zhao Jijun: South Kuangyang Second Street, Yangqu River, Fengfeng Mine District, Handan City; Wang Junfeng: West City Gate, Quzhou County, Handan City;

Suo Qing: South Kuangyang Second Street, Yangqu River, Fengfeng Mine District, Handan City; Ge Yuanzhi: Handan City (he has since been released).

This time, the Handan City Labor Camp did not use electric batons or other physical punishment like before; instead, they invented something called the "Swallow Tiger Bench." The idea was not to beat practitioners. In their own words, "It's so easy to transform someone; all we need is about 5 minutes. We'll make you do whatever we want." Their method was as follows: they tied the practitioners' knees together with a cloth, faced them toward the wall and lowered their heads so that the back of their necks touched the wall. Someone restrained the practitioners' legs and buttocks so they could not move. Then they pushed the practitioners' hands upward until they touched the walls. At the same time they would tighten the cloth around the knees. Practitioners could not help but scream painfully at this stage. When compared with the previous tortures such as electric batons and rubber batons, practitioners said that this was so painful that they didn't even know what the previous pain felt like anymore, and sweat poured out instantly. Some practitioners would pass out immediately, and just a few minutes' torture would make the practitioner unable to walk normally. After they tortured Gao Chao in this manner, for over a month Gao could only walk by bending at a 90-degree angle. Policeman Xue Peijun of Handan City Labor Camp ordered the criminals to perform this torture method. Xue commits crimes against Falun Dafa practitioners and is the key member of the Handan City Labor Camp "610 Office" [the "610 Office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems]. We hope that practitioners will send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil elements in other dimensions.

Practitioner Ren Mengjun was tortured to death, and the 5th Unit of the Handan City Labor Camp is responsible. The 5th Unit brutally beat Ren Mengjun, a 56-year old practitioner from Shahe City, Hebei Province, on at least three occasions. All the beatings were carried out under the command of Handan City Labor Camp's "610 Office," and under the direct command of the 5th Unit's leader, Wang Feng.
