Cultivating Steadfastly With Strong Righteous Thoughts, a Bicyclist is Unhurt in Collision with Car

(Clearwisdom.net) I started to cultivate Falun Dafa in 1998 and went to Beijing to appeal peacefully on July 20, 1999. When I went to validate the Fa in Beijing in 2000 I was taken back to my city's detention centre and detained there illegally. Because I was arrested, my family does not understand me and constantly tries to stop me from practicing Falun Dafa. Later I understood from reading Teacher's article "Beyond the Limits of Forbearance" from Essentials for Further Advancement (II) that I should no longer allow the evil elements in the other dimensions to control my mother-in-law. So I started to send righteous thoughts every day to eliminate evil forces that were controlling my family. That was very effective.

Not long ago, something happened that served as a turning point in my cultivation.

At 8:30am on May 8, 2002, I was crossing the road on my bicycle to buy cooking oil. As I was about to reach the other side, an oncoming car ran into me. My first thought was that I had hit a car, that I practice Falun Gong, and that I would be fine. I will not ask this person for money and this person will be a person that I must clarify the truth to and save. Just as Teacher said in Zhuan Falun, I was not scared at all. A lot of people surrounded me and when the driver got out of the car I saw that he was a traffic police officer. I thought to myself that traffic police officers could also be saved. The officer walked over, scolded me and said, "Look what you did to my car." He was trying to make me pay for the damage to his car. Someone in the crowd realized this and asked me, "Are you alright? Get up and see if you are all right." Then the officer suddenly realized it too and quickly asked, "Quick, try to get up, are you OK?" I said to him, "I'm all right." I was going to tell him that I practice Falun Gong, I'm fine and that he can go but because of my attachment to fear I did not say anything. My niece, a doctor, came over and took me to the hospital since the accident had occurred at the gateway to the hospital. At the gate, I said to the driver, "Don't worry, I don't want any money from you. I am fine, I practice Falun Gong and everyone who practices Falun Gong is a good person." My niece tried to stop me from saying those words and I said loudly, "Even if the police came I would say that I practice Falun Gong." After doing an X-ray, the hospital found nothing wrong with me. Then my husband and friends came to see me. We returned to the scene of the accident and saw that the entire car was smashed and there were pieces everywhere. But there was no damage at all to my bicycle and oil bottle. After returning home, I practiced the Falun Dafa exercises, sent forth righteous thoughts and did whatever housework I had to do.

This incident was a big shock to my family. The driver's car was severely damaged but nothing had happened to me. Actually, many accidents have occurred at that spot and quite a few people have been killed. They now knew the power of Falun Dafa. Later they wanted to demand money from the driver. I solemnly told them that I do not want them to ask for one cent from that driver because I did not suffer any injuries. I was very firm so my family never mentioned the issue of money again. Later, the driver came to visit me and I saw that his car had been repaired in many places.

Afterwards, I regretted having let go of an opportunity to clarify the truth to him because of my attachment to fear. At the key moment, I did not stand up to validate the Fa. It was because my heart was not righteous that I was scared. It is time for me to improve.

Now I have a very good cultivation environment and my family no longer tries to stop me from practicing. I play Teacher's lecture tapes for them every day. From now on, I must maintain righteous thoughts and become a true practitioner during this Fa-rectification period.
