Canadian Member of Parliament Responds to Practitioners' Email Appeal Regarding the Hong Kong Trial
(Clearwisdom.net)
August 9, 2002 Dear [Representative of the Falun Dafa Association] Thank you for your email of August 6, 2002 regarding the trial of Falun Gong
practitioners in Hong Kong. I am grieved to hear of the recent problem in
Hong Kong. As in similar cases, I will appeal to the federal Liberal government for
them to make a clear statement on this matter specifically and the larger
persecution of Falun Gong members, especially by the Chinese government. We will continue the struggle with you.
Yours sincerely,
[A Member of Parliament from British Columbia] ----
Editor's Note: In letters of support coming from government officials who are
standing up and speaking out for Falun Gong, Clearwisdom will often remove
officials' names. This is done because Chinese officials search Falun Dafa
websites for this information. Government officials speaking up for Falun Gong
often receive letters and propaganda packages smearing Falun Gong from Chinese
officials. Some receive personal visits and threats of difficult relations with
China for their constituents if they don't retract their support. Practitioners'
names are often omitted for similar reasons.
