Canadian MP to Xinhua Reporter: "Please Tell Your President to Stop Persecuting Falun Gong"


(Clearwisdom.net) At 11:00 a.m. on August 14, 2002, Falun Gong practitioners in Ottawa, Canada and the Member of Parliament Mr. Anders held a joint press conference to urge the Hong Kong government to withdraw the charges against 16 Falun Gong practitioners and to stop persecuting Falun Gong.

A reporter from the Xinhua News Agency arrived right after the press conference was over. When Mr. Anders became aware that the reporter was from the Xinhua News Agency, he immediately and adamantly said to the reporter, "Please tell your president to stop persecuting Falun Gong."

The reporter from the Xinhua News Agency did not know how to respond to the request and did not say a word for quite a while.
