Persecution in Hulan County, Heilongjiang Province By a practitioner in China
(Clearwisdom.net) Since July 20, 1999, Hulan County's "610
Office" (an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with
absolute power over each level of administration in the Party, and over all
other political and judiciary systems), the county police department's
political security division, and other agencies have detained almost 300 Dafa
practitioners. Even older practitioners in their seventies and younger ones in
their teens have been detained. A family of seven was kidnapped, and some
practitioners have been detained seven to eight times. Over 40 people were
unlawfully sent to "re-education labor camps" without legal
proceedings. Two people were sent to forced labor camps twice, and one
practitioner was sentenced to prison. Dafa practitioners were often held longer
than their stated terms, and some were even tortured.
In November 2001, over 60 practitioners were unlawfully detained for 27 days.
They were released after a group hunger strike that lasted three to four days.
In January 2002, some merciless individuals from the police department plotted
to re-arrest the 60 practitioners. Those who heard the news left their homes to
avoid arrest, and were unable to return home safely for months.
Just before Chinese New Year's Day 2002 (February 12th), policemen
kidnapped several dozen practitioners from their homes. The practitioners were
held for more than two and a half months, and those who refused to give up their
practice were sent to Wanjia Forced Labor Camp.
One incident worthy of special mention is the case of 31-year-old Ren Pengwu,
who was persecuted to death. Ren and a few fellow practitioners were arrested
while making truth-clarification literature. During Ren's interrogation, he was
tortured for two nights by policemen using electric batons. Since Ren went on
hunger strikes during his detention, the supervisor ordered a thug named Sun and
other criminal inmates to cruelly beat Ren. Ren was beaten up again and again,
and Sun yelled viciously, "I will beat you to death if you don't eat!"
The center supervisor and prison doctor force-fed Ren concentrated salt water
while telling him they were being "merciful." Ren went into shock and
died. His toddler son and his young wife were left without anyone to care for
them. Ren's sister and brother were also detained while making
truth-clarification materials and were sentenced to two years in prison. A
fellow practitioner named Zhang who was arrested at the same time was sentenced
to three years of "labor re-education."
In April 2002, Dafa practitioners You Dabing and Huang Xiuying were arrested
in their homes. In the detention center, You Dabing was in a precarious state
after being tortured but still wouldn't succumb. He was later illegally
sentenced to six years of detention. Huang Xiuying went on a hunger strike to
protest the persecution, and walked out of the hospital with righteous thoughts.
Currently, Huang has left her home to avoid further persecution. However, the
police department arrested her husband, Guan Xiqing (also a practitioner). Now,
Guan Xiqing has been on hunger strike for two months. His stomach is damaged and
cannot handle solid foods and his life is in jeopardy. Their 14-year-old son,
Guan Xin, is left at home without supervision.
In May 2002, three Dafa practitioners, Li Dongxue, Zhou Qianzhi, and Ni, were
all kidnapped from their homes. They went on hunger strikes to protest and
demanded being released without charge. A supervisor yelled, "We will not
bear any responsibility even if you die here!" This wave of arrests was
personally directed by the new political security chief, Wang Keda.
In July, these scoundrels captured Gao's mother in Shiren Town as well as
Xubo Township's Li Yan and his parents. Afterwards, Li Yan's father was
released.
Under the orders of the county government and police department, the
political security division and the local police station have recklessly
swindled money and valuables from Dafa practitioners and their families. Without
issuing a receipt, they casually put the "fine" money in their own
pockets. The cruelest of these people are former directors Chang Jianghai and
Chen Jingyao.
Hulan County government's unlawful officials simply ignore the laws when
dealing with the kind-hearted Dafa practitioners. They detain people whenever
they want to. Many of the detained practitioners are severely battered until
they are in critical condition, and many are injured or even paralyzed.
This serves as a warning that good and evil each receive their due
retribution, and that this is a principle of the universe. Every being is
responsible for his or her own actions.
