(Clearwisdom.net) There are many Falun Dafa practitioners in Jiacun Township, Wangdu County, Hebei Province. After practicing Falun Dafa, they became physically and mentally healthy and energetic and their families became more harmonious and peaceful. Practitioners attempt to behave in a compassionate manner at all times, to be considerate to others under all circumstances and judge everything according to the principle of Zhen-Shan-Ren (Truth-Compassion-Tolerance).

On July 20, 1999, 60 Dafa disciples from Jiacun Township went to Beijing to peacefully appeal and express what they felt in the bottom of their hearts, but they were illegally detained. In those days, many places, including almost all big stadiums and labor camps in Beijing imprisoned a large number of Dafa disciples who went to appeal. Wangdu County Police went to Beijing to take the 60 practitioners back and didn't release them, but instead detained them in certain primary schools in Wangdu County. Five days later, Wangdu County took these practitioners to the police station of Jiacun Township. On the same day, they informed the practitioners' families that the practitioners would not be released unless their family paid 500 Yuan for each of them. After that, the local government, under pressure from higher level officials, did not allow Dafa disciples to study Dafa books and practice their exercises, and didn't even allow them to communicate with each other. On October 26, 1999, 7 practitioners from Jiacun Township went to Beijing to appeal. The police once again detained these practitioners in the detention center of Wangdu County for 45 days. Some of them were detained for 3 months. At their release, police forced their families to pay 3000 Yuan to the police department and 800 Yuan to the detention center. Practitioners from Jiacun Township who went to Beijing to appeal later also received such treatment.

After Mu Pingjun, the deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Jiacun Township, took his position in early 2001, Wangdu County started to hold brainwashing classes in groups and by stages. One after another, Dafa disciples were arrested and sent to brainwashing classes, where officials forced them to write pledges to give up practicing Falun Gong. Genuine Dafa disciples firmly resisted the evil persecution and protested by going on hunger strikes. As a result, they left the brainwashing classes with righteous thoughts. However, the authorities never stopped harassing them. Mu Pingjun often led a group of people to Dafa disciples' homes to arrest them. Sometimes they broke into people's homes very late at night and some practitioners were even carried into police cars with hardly any clothes on. In the brainwashing classes, Dafa disciples started a hunger strike, and were sent to hospitals for force-feeding and infusion. Practitioners would be beaten and cursed if they refused to cooperate. On December 12, 2001, Mu Pingjun led a dozen people to arrest 19 Dafa disciples from the 8 villages of Jiacun Township, after which he sent them to brainwashing classes in Wangdu County. Tai Yurong and some other practitioners refused to cooperate with the evil and started a hunger strike to protest. The director of the "610 Office" (an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems) Shang Hongzhi, incited people to force-feed practitioners, tied the practitioners' arms and feet onto beds for infusion and didn't allow them to use the toilet. Even now, some Dafa disciples who were tied up cannot move their arms and they still cannot see clearly. The evil people also used wooden boards to beat Dafa disciples. Dafa practitioner Tai Yurong was tortured to death. After Tai Yurong's death, they blocked all news and didn't allow families to visit or examine Tai's body.

In such an evil environment, Dafa disciples were forced to become homeless and could not return to their spouses and children. Six practitioners were sent to forced labor camps. Even so, Mu Pingjun still often led people to practitioners' homes to search for and arrest people and confiscate Dafa materials. Sometimes when they could not find a Dafa disciple, they arrested their families or even relatives and detained them in the police station. Seeing such brutal behavior, some neighbors said a few words of justice, but were also arrested, taken to the police station of the township and beaten up. Mu Pingjun also told Dafa disciples, "You have to cooperate with my work. I am the youngest official in this township and I also want to be promoted as the mayor of this township by cracking down on Falun Gong!" Seeing that Mu Pingjun behaved in such an evil manner and arrested and beat people at will, some villagers with a sense of justice said, "They are really a group of bandits!"
