City Council Candidate Edward Troy: "The day we started supporting those dictators is the day we gave a reason for terrorism's development."

My name is Edward Chico Troy, candidate for the City council Ward One. Today, I speak as an American, an American beholden to the ideals of our Declaration of Independence and our inalienable rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I speak for myself, as a part of We The People. It is now time for all Of We The People to speak, time to address a great wrong.

I speak now of the egregious conduct of a party with no ideology or ideals, other than simple retention of power at all costs, even the cost of very human lives. I speak of the regime running the People's Republic of China. This regime is embraced by our capitalist trade and embraces capitalism. This regime is directly responsible for over one billion people. Do these billion people give their consent to be governed by this regime? Are these people free to practice and engage in philosophical exercise or exercise religious freedom? The answer to these last two questions is, regrettably, No!

The Falun Dafa movement is criminalized by acting as though they are free. Could We The People be criminals just by being free? In China that answer is yes. Why then do we engage with this regime? If We The People are a government of the people, by the people and for the people, how can we find this acceptable. Instead of embracing this regime with trade shouldn't we be exporting nation building and freedom as the greatest commodities we Americans have?

The day We The People give up responsibility for our foreign policy is the day we stop being Americans.

The day we stopped nation building is the day we gave in to the present foreign policy of a dollar for a dictator.

The day we started supporting those dictators is the day we gave a reason for terrorism's development.

The day terrorism came to our shores is the day many awakened as Americans.

The Day We The People awaken America is the day we will spread the greatness of freedom in nations and end the reasons for terrorism.

I ask President George W. Bush to tell Jiang Zemin to leave the Falun Dafa movement alone and begin practicing it. Jiang will then learn -- China has nothing to fear from Falun Gong and the people of China except freedom. Let that be our export and let freedom ring!
