My Understanding of "Letting Go Of Life and Death"

(Clearwisdom.net) The article "The precious human body" (http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2002/6/4/22780.html) inspired me greatly. The article stated, "For all beings in other dimensions, during the current Fa-rectification period the human shell on earth is indeed very precious. The body of a Dafa disciple in the human world is even more precious beyond description."

In the past when I did Hongfa (introducing Dafa to the public) and truth clarification activities, some people would tell me kind heartedly, "You need to pay attention to safety and security, why don't you just practice at home." Some would even say, "We also know that Falun Gong is good, but you do need to play it safe." I knew they meant well and I often replied, "I am already over sixty years old. I would have died a long time ago if not because of cultivating and practicing Falun Gong. What more is there for me to be afraid of," as though not fearing death was letting go of death. I often became tearful after reading stories about the death of fellow practitioners on the Internet. I felt they were practitioners who truly let go of life and death.

I did not understand then that "letting go of death" was not the same as "not fearing death" among ordinary people. The evil forces were trying to use every trick to "physically eliminate" us. It was no longer sufficient just merely to not be afraid to be persecuted to death. We must resolutely and intelligently validate Dafa, save sentient beings among the tribulations and hardships.

My previous thoughts inadvertently conformed to the arrangements of the old forces. The Fa requires that we let go of life and death, let go of everything to assist Teacher to rectify the Fa, and to offer people salvation. This is the realm that all Dafa disciples should reach. We must try not to just superficially understand the concept of "let go of life and death" with human mindsets. Teacher said, "Even each Dafa disciple's every move, every action, every word, and even the questions you ponder, none of it is that simple. In the future you'll see that everything was very carefully arranged." ("Fa-Lecture at the Conference in Florida, USA") If we cannot look at issues from the standpoint of the Fa, then we won't be able to recognize the arrangement of the old forces. Furthermore, we will easily and unknowingly perform according to their requirements. That was how they took advantage of our ignorance to persecute Dafa disciples, accomplished their objective of poisoning sentient beings and obstructing Teacher's Fa-rectification.

I realized from this issue that we must study the Fa more diligently, and gauge all we see around us with the standard of the Fa. Each Dafa disciple is here to validate the Fa, clarify the truth and save sentient beings. We must not allow evil old forces to deprive us of our precious life, thus, we must cherish our human body.
