Indonesian Court Unreasonably Dismisses Practitioners' Lawsuit Against Chinese Embassy

(Clearwisdom.net) The court has dismissed charges brought by the Indonesian Falun Gong Association against the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia. The hearing was held on August 22, despite the continued absence of the Chinese Embassy, and many media were present. The court announced, "Because the embassy is protected by the Vienna International Convention, therefore no charges should be made against the embassy." The Indonesian Falun Gong Association believes that this decision is unjust and will continue to appeal to a higher-level court.

On April 25, the Indonesian Falun Gong Association filed a lawsuit in a local court in the southern district of Jakarta, accusing the Chinese Embassy of unreasonable interference and forceful entry into their Fa conference venue. The suit also accused the Chinese Embassy of using lies and deceit with the Indonesian Foreign Minister, the President and other government officials, which resulted in the cancellation of a legal parade and character-formation planned by Falun Gong. In the subsequent court proceedings, the Chinese Embassy was absent with no justifiable reason.

The previous court sessions were held on June 13, June 27 and July 18, and each one had to be postponed due to the absence of the Chinese Embassy.

The reason for filing the lawsuit against Chinese Embassy was to expose the evil and to bring forward into public view the criminal actions of the Chinese Embassy against Dafa.

During this period, the Chinese Embassy sent a large amount of false and slanderous material to the Indonesian government and Chinese communities at various levels in an attempt to pressure the Indonesian government to ban Falun Gong. The Chinese Embassy also squandered Chinese taxpayers' money to pay Chinese newspapers and magazines in Indonesia to publish slanderous articles filled with lies about Dafa. Consequently, Indonesian Dafa practitioners went to the Parliament, the police department, newspaper offices and other relevant government organizations to clarify the facts. They also wrote letters and sent out truth-clarifying materials, which have been effective and have helped many more people understand Dafa and learn about the truth.
