(Clearwisdom.net) Taiwan Falun Dafa Association and Dafa practitioners applied to the Taiwan government for registration of "Falun Gong" and the "Falun Emblem." After two years' censor, it was approved legal this April. After completing three months' proclamation, we were finally granted registration certificates of "Falun Gong" and "Falun Emblem" respectively this August. Therefore, the Taiwan Falun Dafa association and Dafa practitioners obtained the patent of the registered emblems.

When the Intellectual Property Office censored the application of the "Falun Emblem," Dafa practitioners collected evidence that "Falun Emblem" has been widely used by practitioners all over the world in various activities to spread Falun Dafa and in facts-describing materials. We insisted that the "Falun Emblem" has been a well-known sign of Falun Gong around the world. Though the design is composed of swastika and Tai Chi, the "Falun Emblem" itself has its uniqueness and notability. The law should protect it. The Intellectual Property Office finally approved that except the individual swastika and Tai Chi that can be used by both Buddhism and Taoism, the patent right protects the entire "Falun Emblem" and all colors of its design.

In addition, when the application of "Falun Gong" was first begun, agents of Trademark said it was difficult to apply. After official application was made, the Intellectual Property Office first refused it. The reason was that the three words of "Falun Gong" were not legally prominent. Besides, "Falun Gong" was well known, so it would not consider granting us the patent right. We insisted that only "Falun Gong" founded by Mr. Li Hongzhi could be called "Falun Gong." We pointed out that Dafa books and the media reports all over the world proved that Master Li is the founder of "Falun Gong," "Falun Gong" should enjoy the patent right protection in Taiwan. The Intellectual Property Office was finally convinced, and granted Dafa practitioners the patent right.

The agents of Trademark were amazed when obtaining the registration certificates. They explained that many famous practice methods applied for registration to the Intellectual Property Office in Taiwan, but none of them obtained the patent right. The agents were pleased that we could smoothly get the patent right. While assisting us to apply, they witnessed and were moved by Dafa practitioners' good demeanor and perseverance. The person in charge of the company and the undertaker also took up the practice of Falun Dafa.

In comparison to Jiang's burning Dafa books, slandering and persecuting Dafa practitioners, we are glad to see that Taiwan authorities rationally protect Falun Dafa according to the law.

Beginning the day when "Falun Gong" and "Falun Emblem" were approved and registered, they will be protected under Taiwan's law during the approved period time. No one can name its practice method as "Falun Gong " or use "Falun Emblem" in the materials of their practice methods.
