Cambodian SRP Members of Parliament's Statement on Human Rights [Excerpt]
Phnom Penh
(Clearwisdom.net) Since the beginning of August 2002, [...] events related to human rights have
occurred in Cambodia, which show that Cambodia is not fulfilling her international responsibilities
properly: [...] The deportation to China of two Chinese members of the Falun Gong spiritual movement who were
also under the protection of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, in defiance of Cambodia's
obligations contracted under the international covenant on refugees.

CAMBODIA NOT FULFILLING HER INTERNATIONAL DUTIES
The above-mentioned [event shows] clearly that the Cambodian government does not adhere to the
international covenants on refugees it has signed and promised to respect. We strongly condemn this
irresponsible attitude of the Cambodian government that constitutes a significant step backward for
human rights in Cambodia.
