On August 30, the NGO Free Forum Summit (Fritt Forum 2002) opened in Gothenburg, Sweden. This
summit is a 4-day event. More than 20 non-governmental organisations, such as Friends of Falun Gong
in Sweden, Amnesty International, Red Cross, the International Women's Union, and EU Stafetten have
been invited to attend the summit.
Friends of Falun Gong in Sweden, an organisation that appeals strongly for an end to the persecution
of Falun Gong practitioners in China, attracted many visitors.
