Resist and Eliminate Evil Torture with Righteous Thoughts

On May 11, 2002, another practitioner and I went to a nearby rural area to clarify the truth about Falun Gong and the persecution to the locals there. As we arrived at the fourth village, we were arrested and taken to the police station.

The police officer who illegally arrested me asked me to sit on the floor and take off my coat. (I was wearing a t-shirt underneath.) He started to interrogate me. I only spoke the truth that Falun Dafa is good, but he slapped my face and forced me to stretch out my legs, then stomped on my ankles. I firmly refused to cooperate. The officer then picked up a four-sided metal brush attached to the end of a thick stick. He ruthlessly beat me all over my legs, arms, hands and face with it. He kicked my back and tore at my hair. My only thought was our Teacher's words, "Cultivation is hard. It's hard in that even when a terrible calamity strikes, even when evil madly persecutes, and even when your life is at stake, you still have to be able to steadfastly continue on your path of cultivation without letting anything in human society interfere with the steps you take on your path of cultivation." ("Path" in Essentials for Further Advancement, Volume 2) I was tortured from 11 A.M. to 5 P.M. I resisted and refused to cooperate at all times, and despite the brutality, I did not feel any pain. I knew in my heart that it was Teacher who bore it for me.

At around 9 P.M., the police transferred me to a detention center. As I was changing my clothes, the inmates saw that my body was black and blue all over, and my hands and feet were extremely swollen. They shed tears. Some said, "Before, I had only heard about the persecution against Falun Gong. Now I have seen it for myself." Later I was sent to the prison. I clarified the truth to the inmates. Some of them accepted the truth immediately and told me that they would tell more people as soon as they were released. Sometimes the female inmates would carry me outside the cell. I used this opportunity to tell the truth to them. Some of them said, "You were beaten up to this extent, yet you still care to tell us the truth. You are truly admirable. You should eat better and regain your strength." Fourteen days later, I still could not walk. I could not bend my legs, even to use the toilet. Fearing that I would expose their crimes, the police sent me back to the detention center.

Under the mighty power of Falun Dafa practitioners' righteous thoughts, I was unconditionally released from the detention center on the morning of June 1. I have once again joined the current of clarifying the truth and saving sentient beings.
