Letter of Support for Falun Dafa from Illinois State Representative Thomas B. Berns to President George Bush

Dear President Bush:

I write to you on behalf of Professor Hao Feng and Ms. Dongdong Zhang who have brought to my attention the tragic plight and ruthless suppression of practitioners of Falun Dafa in the People's Republic of China. They ask for help to bring an end to this horrific nightmare.

The practitioners of the fundamental teachings of Falun Gong (which embody Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance) are peacefully promoting a grass root effort to reveal the many human rights abuses against their group. They ask that the abuses that started in China in 1999 be ended and that practitioners be allowed to live in peace with their spiritual and meditative practice for positive life changes.

I would greatly appreciate your attention to their plea for the individual right to practice Falun Dafa in China. For people to be killed, detained and tortured, or forced into labor camps for their personal beliefs is terror in its basic form. Without doubt, all freedom loving people should be outraged and speak against such treatment of fellow human beings.

I thank you for everything that you can do the help the plight of the Falun Dafa practitioners in the People's Republic of China.
