Opening Speech at the European Fa Conference, Copenhagen, September 22, 2002

Dear fellow practitioners, dear friends:

First of all, I would like to welcome you to the European Falun Dafa Cultivation Experience-Sharing Conference on behalf of the European Falun Dafa Association.

It has now been over three years since the persecution of Falun Gong in China began. In that time we have received support from the government and kind-hearted people in many countries of the world. We are grateful for the support they have shown us during this time.

The persecution against Dafa practitioners is not just a Chinese issue but an international one. We have witnessed how Jiang has interfered with western countries. In Europe, for instance, there was Germany, Iceland, Ukraine, and now Denmark. The Jiang regime's pressure inside Europe is a persecution of peaceful Falun Gong practitioners and it is also a persecution of Europe's democratic traditions and way of life. [..]

We must work together to totally stop this evil, and to clarify the truth to everyone, exposing the fact that such persecution is harmful to all, including people in Western societies. It should be resisted by all! We should tackle this head-on by deepening our truth clarification to governments and media. [..]

Over the past year, practitioners throughout Europe have been studying the Fa more and working together more closely and effectively to break through the lies and slander from Jiang's regime. More and more practitioners have become more active in clarifying the truth and exposing the evil. Practitioners in Europe are cooperating better than ever before. We have realised that we still have a long way to go in order to fulfill our goals, but we can certainly say that we can and will speed up our steps.

I would also like to take this opportunity to re-emphasise the urgency and importance of clarifying the truth to the Chinese people, as well as the people of the world. Let's adjust our priorities promptly to meet this major challenge.

We also must not let up in our cultivation - studying the Fa well is the sacred foundation for everything we do. The Fa gives us a broadminded understanding towards fellow practitioners, the Fa purifies us and the Fa guides us on our path of cultivation. Let us all study the Fa as well as clarify the truth and Fa Zheng Nian [sending forth righteous thoughts].

Finally, we hope that the European Falun Dafa Experience-Sharing Conference in Copenhagen is a great success.
