"Display the Demeanor of a Dafa Disciple" at All Times

(Clearwisdom.net) Master said, "You are Dafa disciples, so no matter what environment you're in, when you do things like clarifying the truth and saving sentient beings, you should display the demeanor of a Dafa disciple" ("Teaching the Fa at the Washington, D.C. Fa Conference"). I realized that "display the demeanor of a Dafa disciple" is Master's requirement for us. It's what's required of us by the ever-progressing Fa rectification; it's necessary for truth clarification and saving people, so we should make sure not to take it lightly.

Every one of our Dafa practitioner's is a Fa particle, the display of the Fa in the human world. If we do well in all aspects, we will display Dafa's mighty virtue, benevolence and magnificence; otherwise, we will stain Dafa's reputation and affect the whole Fa rectification process. People's understanding of Dafa usually starts with perceptional aspects, such as Dafa practitioners' demeanor. On the other hand, Dafa practitioners' actions will directly affect the quality of truth clarification and the outcome of salvation.

Therefore, how do we treat the issue of Dafa disciple's demeanor? In other words, how does a Dafa practitioner's demeanor show? Personally, I think it includes the following:

1. Kind and harmonious face. Dafa practitioners are benevolent, compassionate and tolerant; we treat all people with kindness, therefore we should be calm with no sadness or anger in all situations. Our manner should always be benevolent and approachable.
2. Gentle words. Usually, we should talk in a slow but stable manner and we should take care not to become flighty, impatient or loud. The mighty virtue that naturally reflects from our peacefulness will let people know what is a cultivator's righteousness.
3. Decent behavior. Dafa practitioners assist Master to rectify the Fa in the human world, so all of our behavior should display us to be people of honor. Men and women practitioners should display the righteousness of their genders and we should also sit and stand in an upright position. We should display the good manners of a modern person.
4. We should wear clean and appropriate clothes. Except in special circumstances, we should take note of our attire. We shouldn't pay excessive attention to our appearances or pursue luxuries like some non-practitioners, but neither should we be careless of our looks, personal hygiene or other people's hygienic habits.

The points above might not be correct or thorough; they are only my personal understandings. In fact, Master has already personally set a model for us in terms of demeanor.

Of course, Dafa practitioners' demeanor is not superficial, it shows the extent of one's Fa study and his xinxing level. Therefore, if we want to display the demeanor required of Dafa practitioners at all times, first we must study the Fa more. Just as Master had pointed out, "You're cultivators after all, so if you want to do this well, the most important thing to do is to study the Fa. No matter how busy you are, you have to study the Fa. This is especially true for those students who stepped forward late, or who've stumbled, or who haven't kept up-you should study the Fa a lot, listen to criticism more, and hurry to catch up" ("Teaching the Fa at the Washington, D.C. Fa Conference"). Second, we should firmly bear in mind that we are responsible for the Fa. We should often remind ourselves: I'm a Dafa practitioner and I should be responsible for the Fa with every one of my word and action. At the same time, we should also check ourselves often, and when we detect weaknesses, we should correct them immediately and do well the next time.
