Third Party Opinion: "Killing is Saving" - a Saying Copyrighted by the Xinhua News Agency

(Clearwisdom.net)

A few days ago, the Xinhua News Agency framed Falun Gong yet again by fabricating a false report, citing a homicide case from Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province.

The killers were two female convicts, Lin Chunmei and Wen Yuping, originally from Xinjiang Autonomous Region. On March 1, 2002, they strangled female hotel attendant Mai Xinping to death in the Hongbin Hotel. Xinhua News Agency and the CCTV's Jiaodian Fangtan (Focal Point Interview) program referred to the convicts as "Falun Gong practitioners" and distorted Falun Gong's teaching with twisted logic. Xinhua News Agency and CCTV claimed that these convicts killed people for the purpose of "saving people."

It is hard to believe that such a ridiculous report could fool anyone.

Please read the following question and answer as reported by Xinhua News Agency.

[Reporter] Question: Cultivators should not kill. Why did you kill?

[Convicts] Answer: The understanding of life is different. Ordinary people see that to kill the flesh body is killing, whereas we think that to kill one's soul is counted as killing.

The question and answer above shows that the Xinhua News Agency reporter himself knew very well that Falun Gong teaches practitioners not to kill, and the murder case obviously had nothing to do with Falun Gong. The question "Cultivators should not kill. Why did you kill?" shows clearly that the reporter also recognized this point.

It is clear that no matter how the convicts answered the question, it has nothing to do with Falun Gong. The convicts said: "The understanding of life is different." This clearly points out that the convicts' understanding is not from Falun Gong's teaching, and theirs is not a Falun Gong practitioner's understanding. It is from the convicts' own mindset and is totally different from Falun Gong's teaching. Searching through all Falun Gong's book, one cannot find any such phrases.

Xinhua News Agency's quote of the convicts' saying that "killing is saving" is even more bizarre and has absolutely nothing to do with Falun Gong. The convicts, the investigating police or Xinhua News Agency made it up. The reporter's question clearly shows that the reporter himself did not believe this murder case had anything to do with Falun Gong.

But unfortunately, this happens to be the reasoning of Xinhua News Agency and CCTV's Jiaodian Fangtan program. "Killing is saving"- a statement that only Xinhua News Agency would copyright.
