Editors' Note: In both Western and Chinese culture, the principle of karmic retribution, that is, being held ultimately accountable for one's own actions, is widely accepted. The fundamental teaching of Falun Gong is the characteristic of the universe, "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." The universe will reward actions that are in harmony with this principle, while actions such as beating, torturing and murdering people will incur karmic retribution. Stated another way, good deeds will be rewarded with good, while evildoings will meet due retribution. Articles such as this one are meant as a compassionateáreminder of this principle to those who would commit wrongdoing. While many of those who persecute Falun Gong are merely "following orders," the universal law requires that they, too, be held responsible for their actions, and that only by reversing their course of wrongdoing may they escape retribution.
A Doctor Who Offers Service to Prisons Suffers Lung Cancer for Persecuting Dafa Practitioners
Zhang Youcheng is a doctor at the Jiaohe City Hospital who offered his services to local prisons. For the past three years, Zhang had brutally force-fed practitioners who were on hunger strikes many times. He forcibly pried their mouths open and plugged tubes into their esophagus so roughly that it caused severe bleeding. He also forced-fed practitioners with maize flour gruel containing a high concentration of salt.
Practitioners have warned him that good would be rewarded with good and evil with evil. He has refused to listen, but instead cursed Dafa. At the end of 2001, while he was cursing Dafa, he fell unconscious on the spot. He was found to be suffering from lung cancer.
Police Chief Yin Wengui Falls Ill
Yin Wengui was the chief of the Changan Police Station of Jiaohe City, Jilin Province. During his time of service, he illegally arrested many practitioners. He persecuted practitioners with various methods, including torture, beatings, huge fines, detentions, and sending them to forced labor camps. As a result, he suffered from severe illnesses, resulting in multiple operations. Recently he was arrested for embezzlement. His son was assaulted on the street by strangers. Yin's brutality in the persecution of Falun Gong has brought problems for himself as well as to his family members.
Ren Baoxiang, an Official of Changan Street Residential Committee of Jiaohe City, Jilin Province, Suffers Karmic Retribution
Ren Baoxiang has actively participated in the persecution of Falun Gong since July 1999. She often went to practitioners' homes, attempting to convince them to give up the Falun Gong. She also tried to force practitioners to sign slanderous statements. In July 2001, she staked out certain spots to arrest practitioners every night. One time when it was close to midnight, she was going home after she finished her shift. Two robbers attacked and assaulted her. She had to stay in a hospital for 2 weeks before she was able to return to work.
Song, an Official of Minzhu Street Residence Committee in Jiaohe City, Suffers from Multiple Illnesses
In order to obtain financial rewards for reporting on Falun Gong practitioners, Song, an official of Minzhu Street Residence Committee, actively participated in the persecution of Falun Gong. Song often went to residence buildings to check if there was a Falun Gong banner. Whenever she found one, she always tore it down. She also went to the houses of those practitioners who were forced to leave home to avoid further persecution and monitored those houses, hoping to discover the practitioners' whereabouts. She had been very healthy before, but from the beginning of this year, her health has severely worsened. She has been found to suffer from multiple illnesses including heart disease, bleeding in her brain, and a problem with her cervical vertebra. Although she went to see doctors many times, her illnesses have not improved. Since then she has been unable to carry out any more persecution of practitioners.
Policeman Guo Bucai Suffers from Severe Illness
Since July 20, 1999, Guo Bucai has been extremely active in the persecution of Falun Gong. In the summer of 2000, he was forced to undergo surgery due to a serious illness. While he was still in the hospital, his wife was sent to the hospital, also because of a severe illness.
Policewoman Suffers from Mysterious Disease
Zhao Ailin from the Detention Center of Jiaohe City has brutally beaten practitioners many times. She contracted a strange illness, causing her to feel uncomfortable all over her body. She is even unable to raise her head or straighten her neck. The doctors are perplexed by her illness.
A Police Vehicle Burns
In September 2002, several police officers from Jiangmifeng Police Station of Jilin City, Jilin Province were riding in a police van when it suddenly caught fire. It kept burning until the entire vehicle became a pile of scrap iron, injuring the policemen inside. Since July 1999, the police have often used this vehicle to arrest Falun Gong practitioners. This has been regarded as a solemn warning to those police officers that have participated in persecuting practitioners.
A Residence Committee Director Is Dismissed From Her Post
Li Yuhua has been a Residence Committee Director in the district of the First Automobile Corporation of Changchun. She has often threatened practitioners and gone to their homes to harass them. She tried to force the practitioners to write statements of giving up Falun Gong. If practitioners refused to do so, she would report their names to their superiors. She has also prevented practitioners' children from entering school. Recently she has been fired for soliciting bribes.
