At approximately 10:30 a.m. on October 23, 2002, the police from the Luyuan Police Branch arrested practitioner Xun Defeng when he was taking a taxi. The police then illegally confiscated his house. His young daughter was too scared to cry. The police tortured him in order to obtain information about the location of a site that produced Dafa materials, then they confiscated all practitioners personal property and assets including a computer, bank deposit certificates, and savings. The police arrested some practitioners from the site and tortured them by beating them, sticking nails under and pulling out practitioners' fingernails, and hanging them up. However, inhuman tortures could not change our practitioners' firm beliefs in Dafa and Teacher.

Dafa practitioner B was looking at the Minghui.net website in practitioner A's house. Within several minutes, several police cars came and surrounded the building and B was forced to jump from the building. Then the police arrested A and confiscated his computer.

Recently, the police sent all determined practitioners to the fourth and fifth squad in order to brainwash and torture them. The police said that the order from the higher authorities indicated that they would not release any determined practitioners whose sentences were due. The local police were ordered to pick up these practitioners and send them directly to the brainwashing center. If these practitioners continued practicing Falun Gong after two brainwashing sessions, they were to be sent back to the forced labor camp.

Recently, a university in Northern China conducted physical examinations for the freshmen and discovered a certain bacteria that caused liver disease. The bacteria were discovered in all students except for a student named Yang who practiced Falun Dafa. Therefore, Yang didn't have to receive injections like all the other students. All of Yang's parents and relatives were very happy for him and highly praised Falun Dafa.

In August 2002, the police from the Heping Police Branch arrested Bai Hua and he was recently unlawfully sentenced to 3 years in a forced labor camp.

A 36-year-old taxi driver Ma Yuping clarified the truth about Falun Dafa to one of his customers who worked in the city government and this person then reported him to the police. On the morning of September 26, 2002, the police from the Transportation Police Station in Huanggu District Police Branch arrested him and illegally detained him in the Shenyang Detention Center. Then on October 29 he was illegally sent to the Zhangshi Forced Labor Camp for two years.

The city authorities forced all car owners in the taxi companies to sign a contract that stated, "Propagating Falun Gong is prohibited in taxis. Reporting violations to the authorities will be rewarded." Many taxi owners could not understand why this regulation was created and were not happy about it.

Around 9 a.m. on October 29, 2002, several policemen arrested Sun Hongjun while he was working in his work unit at the Huaguang Light Factory. His coworkers all felt that this was unjust. They said, "This is really unreasonable. These people (policemen) are bandits."

Before the People's 16^th Congress in October, the police from the Jixian Street Police Station illegally sent married couple Gu Ying and Guo Jian to the Wugan Brainwashing Center in Zhangshi because they practiced Falun Gong. The police took them away from their child who is not even two years old, leaving the child at home alone.

Since the city of Changchun requires an ID for using the Internet, the Internet users are strictly monitored and many websites are blocked. In this way, using the Internet becomes very inconvenient. A practitioner who works at a printing company clarifies the truth to the graduate students at Jilin University. One student came to make copies and the practitioner told him about the goodness of Dafa and the inhumane persecution. The practitioner talked about the many uncertainties in the case of the "Beijing Internet club fire" and pointed out that the actual cause of this incident was to block the Internet clubs and to prevent people from discovering the outside world and the truth about Falun Gong. Upon listening to this, the student sighed, "Yes, they made it very inconvenient for us to write our thesis by not letting us use the Internet. My schoolmates were saying, 'If they don't let us use the Internet, we will all practice Falun Gong.'"

Police in the Jiamusi Forced Labor Camp brutally torture Falun Dafa practitioners. They cruelly tortured practitioner Li Jingfeng and prohibited him from sleeping for 12 days. Another practitioner named Shang Xiping also suffered extreme torture.

On December 11, practitioners successfully held a conference in a Northern county in China. This conference was the largest since July 22, 1999 and lasted from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Nearly thirty practitioners came from local areas and shared their understanding about how to study the Fa, send forth righteous thoughts, and clarify the truth.

In the evening of October 14, 2002, Falun Dafa practitioners in a city hung more than 3,000 golden banners with red letters reading: "Falun Dafa is good"; "Falun Dafa is a righteous Fa"; "Zhen-Shan-Ren (Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearence)"; "Fa rectifies the human world"; "Restore Dafa's reputation" and so on. These banners were all over the city's streets and strongly suffocated the evil. Some people said, "Falun Gong is truly remarkable to hang so many banners in one night."

Recently, a modern drama slandering Dafa was sponsored by the Cultural Bureau and shown at the Haihe City Theater. The drama was directed by Huang Yingfan and Wang Jiangping.
