Practitioner Zhang Xiangyu Suffers Brutal Tortures in the Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp of Beijing

(Clearwisdom.net) Zhang Xiangyu is a farmer in Lixian Town, Daxing County, close to Beijing. Because he insisted on practicing Dafa and clarifying the truth, he was illegally arrested and sentenced to a forced labor camp. On December 28, 2001, he was sent to the Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp.

While Zhang Xiangyu was detained in No. 5 Division, he had been deprived of the right to sleep, harassed by groups of collaborators (Former Falun Gong practitioners who have gone astray and turned against Dafa due to brainwashing and torture) and suffered humiliating physical tortures; nevertheless, he remained faithful and unyielding. The following are some of the tortures to which the police subjected him: he was not allowed to urinate for a whole day and night; he was deprived of sleep for a long period; and he was forced to run 50 continuous laps around the recreation field every day. Some team leaders (supervisors of guards), such as team leader Wei Guoping and assistant team leader Yue Qingjin, had beaten him. Yue had placed Zhang's head between his two legs to insult Zhang. He had placed a ring of small wood sticks against Zhang's neck to torture and humiliate him. Some collaborators spoke to him sarcastically and insultingly. The team leaders even went to his home, illegally, to search and spread rumors about Zhang Xiangyu's current state in order to pressure his family.

After all the tactics had failed, Zhang Xiangyu was sent to No. 7 Division (which is the one related to drug cases). In order to clarify the truth and expose evils, Zhang wrote an appeal statement while in No. 7 Division. In early November, Zhang Xiangyu handed over his appeal statement to the team leader, Du, who had a conversation with Zhang and claimed all the tortures conducted in No. 5 Division were "physical exercises." Zhang exposed the facts, including that he had not been allowed to sleep for five consecutive days and nights. He strongly asked for his appeal statement to be handed over to the court and the bureau of the forced labor camp, as the law requires.

In the middle of November, deputy Li Aimin came to No. 7 Division. Zhang Xiangyu asked the assistant team leader Ye to hand over an appeal letter to Li Aimin. After he received no response, Zhang came to the team office and directly delivered the letter to Li Aimin. Li and Ye both completely ignored him. Before long, Ye came to talk to Zhang Xiangyu and accused him of committing a wrongdoing by entering the guard area without permission and interfering with the team leader. He said he was going to keep a record of the event and take disciplinary action against him. Zhang Xiangyu said to him, "You said in a meeting that letters from those of us in the labor camp are guaranteed to be delivered to higher authorities. Today you promised me again. But you didn't do it. How can you say that coming here to talk to you about it is wrong? When I wanted to send a letter to the court before, you opened it to check it. These actions are outside the law." Ye threatened to extend his term by three months. Soon, charging him with hiding Master's articles on his person, he sent Zhang to the assembly team for further persecution.

Currently, Zhang is still suffering the evil persecution.
