With Powerful Righteous Thoughts, Dafa Disciple Gong Chengxi Walks Nobly Out of the Tuanhe Labor Camp
(Clearwisdom.net) On December 19, 2002, Falun Dafa disciple Gong Chengxi successfully broke
through the evil environment and openly and nobly walked out of the Tuanhe Labor Camp in Beijing
after being illegally imprisoned for two years. Gong Chengxi was first sentenced to the forced-labor
camp for one year, and later his sentence was extended multiple times for a total of an additional
year because he resolutely resisted the evil. His righteous thoughts and actions broke through the
arrangements of the old forces. The evil authorities became extremely anxious telling him, "Now
you are affecting the international reputation of Beijing." Every person in the labor camp who
knew his name all praised him and felt happy about his righteous belief and actions. Twenty-four year-old Gong Chengxi was a 4th year student at the China University of
Political Science and Law, and his academic record and moral character were both excellent. He
endured severe persecution after he was detained, but he insisted on his determined belief in Falun
Dafa and tried all means to create a [cultivation] environment and validate Dafa. He awakened many
brainwashed practitioners, and many criminals left him their contact information and told him that
they would definitely find him to learn and practice Falun Dafa after they obtain their release.
During the course of many hunger strikes to protest the persecution, Gong Chenxi showed such
determination and peacefulness that he even deeply shocked a lot of prison doctors and policemen,
and they all praised him repeatedly. Now, his success in breaking through the evil blockade has
created a big shock within the Labor Camp Bureau. In 2000, Gong Chengxi was escorted [by police] back to his hometown in Gansu Province because he
had gone to Tiananmen Square to stage a peaceful appeal. On March 1, 2001, he was arrested and
imprisoned in the Tuanhe Labor Camp. He went on hunger strike many times to protest the evil's
persecution, and thus, he was sent to an intensive brainwashing team twice for as long as half a
year. He was tied up for several months and endured all kinds of insults and torture. Because he was
tied onto the "iron bed" (a kind of torture where the four limbs of the practitioner
are stretched out and tied to the four corners of the bed) for too long, his buttocks developed
ulcerated sores and were scarred for a long time. He was transferred to another section known as the
"building used to overcome the difficult ones" to be persecuted more intensely, but he
always insisted on his belief and never renounced it. After the police tried all possible means to get him to renounce his belief, both soft and tough,
and none of them worked, Gong Chengxi was deemed a "deadly hard member and very difficult to
change." Police were afraid that he might affect other people and encourage them to hold strong
to their personal belief so they sent him to the No. 7 Team (the forced-labor team for drug-addicts
and drug-related criminals). In the No. 7 Team, Gong Chengxi spent a large amount of time promoting
Dafa, doing Fa-rectification and clarifying the truth with great compassion and extremely strong
righteous thoughts. In order to offer salvation to all sentient beings, he only slept for 3-4 hours
every day. He tried to recollect a large number of Minghui articles from his memory and sometimes he
wrote statements of appeal. From March to October, he did a great number of good deeds, and everyone
around him couldn't help admiring and appreciating him. His purity, fearlessness, openness, nobility
and thoughtfulness for others under any circumstance affected other people, and his every word and
action made all the drug addicts he was detained with admire him. However, even when his extended sentence came to an end, the labor camp still didn't want to
release him. At 7 pm on the evening of October 19, 2002, Gong Chengxi was taken to the team headquarters and
was told that his family and school officials were going to pick him up. However, at 8 pm, witnesses
reported that about a dozen people including Director Du, Section Chief Jiang, security team members
and some policemen tied Gong Chengxi's hands from behind and strapped tape tightly over his mouth.
Four people carried him and two covered his mouth, walking in front of other people. Everyone
witnessed such indecent behavior and felt worried for Gong Chengxi and indignant. Dafa practitioners asked the team leader about Gong Chengxi many times, but they got conflicting
answers. Later, it was learned that Gong's detention was extended for another two months without any
valid reason. Gong was taken to the intensive training team on the evening of October 19, 2002, but
he went on hunger strike to protest. Due to long-term torture, he could not walk or speak and his
heart was severely affected. He clearly pointed out that the police didn't respect the "law and
heaven." Zhang, from the Labor Camp Bureau's administration section. came to talk to Gong
Chengxi. Director of the labor camp, Li Aimin, also found an ex-classmate of Gong's to try to
persuade and pressure him. Everyday, Gong Chengxi was tied to a bed. His family didn't hear from him
at all. The excuse used to extend his detention was from false materials used by Yue Weihua to frame
him. Because the intensive training team had a guilty conscience and was afraid that Gong would die,
in addition to Gong's own righteous thoughts which overwhelmed the evil, the intensive training team
promised Gong Chengxi that he could stay in the duty room instead of a prison cell. He ate food the
team leader bought outside the camp instead of the prison food; he could wear his own clothes
instead of the labor camp uniform, and he could talk to other people. He thus created a more
favorable environment within Tuanhe Labor Camp which was without precedence. In front of such open, noble and pure power, the evil was not rampant any more. On December 19,
2002, after experiencing layer after layer of hardships and persecution, Gong Chengxi openly and
nobly walked out of the Tuanhe Labor Camp. Written on January 3, 2003 Posting date: 1/13/2003
