Practitioners from Jinchang City, Gansu Province Illegally Sentenced to Heavy Jail Terms of up to 12 Years

Guo Hong, a 40 year old female employee with the Power Plant of Jinchuan Group Company, Jinchang City. She went to Beijing to appeal to the Central Government many times. In 2000, she was sent to the Fire Fighters Division of her company for forced brainwashing in a class lasting 7 months. In 2001, she was arrested twice and sent to the City Detention Center for half a year's detention without any legal reason. In March of 2002, she was arrested again and detained for more than 8 months. Finally in mid-December, she was illegally sentenced to 11 years in prison.

Zhang Yulong, a 37 year old male employee with the Foundry of Jinchuan Group Company, Jinchang City. In 2000, he was sent to the Fire Fighters Division of his company for forced brainwashing in a class lasting 5 months. Then he was sent to the Smokers Labor Camp of his Company for more than 2 months, totaling 7 months of detention. After he was arrested again in March 2002, he was sent to the City Detention Center for more than 10 month's detention and then he was illegally sentenced to 9 years in prison.

Xiao An, a male employee, in his 30's with the Foundry of Jinchuan Group Company, Jinchang City. He was dismissed from his job because he practices Falun Dafa. In January of 2002 he was caught putting up Falun Gong banners and as a result, he was arrested later in March. After he was detained illegally in a detention center for more than 10 months, he was illegally sentenced to 10 years in prison in mid-December.

Wu Kaili, male, in his 50s, retired from the Power Plant of Jinchuan Group Company, Jinchang City. In 2001, he was detained illegally in a forced labor camp and he was fired from his work unit because Falun Gong books were found at his home. Wu's wife, Zhao Fenglian, had been detained in a forced labor camp illegally in 2001. In mid-November 2002, when Wu and his wife went back to their hometown to clarify the truth about Falun Gong, he was arrested by the local Wuwei police agents; his wife is currently still missing. Abusive police officers from Wuwei and Jinchang ransacked Wu's home.

Qin Dewu, male, in his 30s, a farmer in Yongchang County. Because he practices Falun Gong and went to Beijing to appeal to the Government and because he is involved in other Dafa activities, Qin Dewu was thrown into the Lanzhou Pingantai Forced Labor Camp and detained for more than 1 year. He was arrested again in March of 2002 and was detained for 10 months. He was illegally sentenced to 12 years in prison in mid-December.
