Sweden: Young Practitioners Tell of the Courageous Story of Song Xu -- 50 Day Long Hunger Strike to Protest Against the Atrocities (Photos)
Jan 11, 2003 (Clearwisdom.net) Gothenburg, Sweden -- In middle of a crowd of weekend
shoppers two Swedish youths were distinguished by their bright yellow jackets with the words
Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance on them. One of them held a large placard, which described
the situation of a Chinese man, named Xu Song, who is suffering greatly in a detention center in
China. Thomas, one of the youths, told a Clearharmony reporter that it is important that
people know the appalling story of Xu Song. Xu Song, 28, a graduate of Henan Agriculture University Graduate, was arbitrarily
detained several times for persisting in appealing for Falun Gong. Each time he was brutally
tortured. Recent reports from China said that Mr. Song was sent to the First Detention Center in
Zhengzhou City, where he is currently staging a hunger strike to protest the atrocious treatment of
innocent Falun Gong practitioners. On the other side of the placard the following was printed: Save Falun Gong
practitioners in China! Many stopped to talk with the two young men, to give some words of encouragement
and/or sign their petition addressed to the UN. A reporter from Clearharmony asked a couple who had just signed the petition,
"What do you think about what the boys are doing?" Without hesitation, they said; "Great! What they are doing is good. This
concerns us too. We know about what is happening."
