A County Level Deputy Official's Words: "Falun Dafa Teaches Me Honesty and Justice" (Part 2)

(Clearwisdom.net) After I started the practice of Falun Dafa, I helped those in urgent need without hesitation.

In the first half of 1998, my primary school age son had a classmate whose parents were unemployed, then his father suffered a serious disease, which meant that he couldn't afford to pay for his son's school. The teacher in charge of his class asked all students to donate money to help that student. My wife and I gave 500 Yuan [Chinese currency, the monthly salary for an average Chinese urban worker is about 500 Yuan]. Later my son told me that most of the donations from each of the other students was no more than 5 Yuan.

One evening at about 9 pm in January 1999, my wife met a tearful couple who were with their child in the cold wind on the street. My wife learned that the couple were from another province. They had been working for a contractor but at the end of the year the contractor disappeared, and they received no salary and had no money to buy even their tickets home They had forgone meals for some time. My wife then brought them to my home and offered them a meal, then gave them a few hundred Yuan for traveling costs. The couple were moved to tears and said: "Why are you two so kind?" I said: "We are Falun Gong practitioners who follow Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance. Our Teacher asked us to be good people in any situation, and should be nice to everyone. It's normal for us to help you."Then my wife and I introduced Dafa to them. They praised Dafa continuously. When they left, they said, "Thanks Falun Gong!"

In November 1998, I went to a poor countryside mountain village for about one and a half years to help the people there improve their ability to make a living. While living among the mountain villagers, I had a 100 thousand Yuan budget under my control, but I never spent one cent on myself and took it upon myself to to pay my own meals. In less than 6 months, my group helped the village to pave several thousand meters of road, installed running water facilities, and made special arrangements for a dozen especially poor families. The village became a model of the local effort to help poor people improve the quality of their lives. The local TV station and newspaper reported what we did.

During that period of time, a self-employed contractor sent money and gifts to me in order to win the running water installation project which had a budget of about 100 thousand Yuan. I told him that their company had been chosen for the project because they were the appropriate candidate, and we did not accept any gifts. That boss was very happy and said he would gave me bonuses. I talked with him about my experience from practicing Falun Dafa, and explained why giving bribes was bad for both of us. He said when he left, "When I asked someone who knows you, they said you are a Falun Gong practitioner and do not accept gifts. I doubted that, now I know it is true."

When the running water project was going on, I frequently met that contractor. One day after the project was done he said in front of many people, "I am in my fifties right now, the officials I've met have not been a small number, but you are the best!" I replied with a smile, "If it weren't for the fact that I practiced Falun Gong, I wouldn't be this good."

During that period of time, I frequently introduced Falun Dafa to the villagers,

and brought the video tapes of Teacher's lectures in Guangzhou to the village for them to watch. Many villagers understood Dafa in this way, some of them started to practice.

On July 20, 1999 when Dafa was persecuted and our Teacher was slandered, I went to Beijing to appeal. After I returned from Beijing, I was removed from my post.

One evening in the second half of 1999, I got a phone call from the party secretary of the above mentioned village, he said, "Tomorrow, I and other officials in the village are going to appeal to your unit." I was surprised and asked them why. He said, "We got to know your situation just recently, we thought it's unfair to you. Where could we find a good officer as good as you at this time? You did not do anything wrong. You just told your "superiors" that it's good to practice Falun Gong. What's wrong with that? They have treated you unfairly. We had a meeting today and decided that all the officials in the village should go to your unit tomorrow to talk to your leader, to tell them the good deeds you have done in the village and to deliver our praise of you to them. We will ask them to restore your position." My understanding of Dafa was not up to a high level, and at the time I was worried about bringing troubles for them, so I expressed my gratitude to them, but asked them not to come and speak on my behalf.

One day at the end of 1999, after I had been removed from my post for half a year, people from my unit came with me to the village to bring back my luggage. The kind villagers were very warm to me. Finally they saw me off in the snow and wind. The village secretary held my hands with tears in his eyes. The car had started but he followed for a few steps and said, "Take good care of yourself!"

During the past three years in which I was abused by the evil simply for saying "Falun Dafa is good" and for not giving up the practice of Falun Dafa, which upgraded my moral standard greatly, I was detained 12 times. The location and time of these 12 times are: once for 6 days in the work unit office; Police station for three times and a total of three days; Administrative detention for three times and a total of 37 days; Criminal detention center for three times and a total of 63 days; Forced labor camp for twice for a total of six and a half months. During this period of time, I was handcuffed many times and was tortured by police and criminals in the forced labor camp. Once I was even tortured until I fainted. I was extorted 12,000 Yuan; My office and home were illegally searched; I was fired and dispelled from the Party; Right now, to avoid being further persecuted, I cannot stay at home and have left home for about a year.

I hope my personal experiences as told above can help people to correctly distinguish between good and evil actions, to get rid of your misunderstanding about Falun Dafa, and to know the truth regarding this persecution. I would be very happy if I can achieve that.
