Ottawa and Montreal: Falun Dafa Practitioners Peacefully Appeal in Front of the Chinese Embassy for an End to the Killing (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) From 2:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. on January 12, 2003, Falun Gong practitioners from Ottawa and Montreal, despite chilly winter wind, initiated their 3-day appeal and candlelight vigil, exposing the Jiang regime's brutal persecution of Falun Gong and calling for an immediate end to the killing.

Since November last year, the persecution against Falun Gong practitioners in China has been escalating, 43 names have been added to the list of Falun Gong practitioners who have been tortured to death, including an International Broadcast Station translation editor, retired official, senior engineer, doctor, primary and elementary school teachers. They were all ordinary Chinese citizens, and good people who were committed to strive to cultivate themselves to be compassionate. During his visit to the US in October 2002, Jiang Zemin, the prime criminal who orchestrated the campaign of persecution against people's freedom of belief was charged in a lawsuit with the crime of "Genocide" at a District Court in the United States by Falun Gong practitioners and their relatives who have experienced the persecution.

71-year-old Ms. Huang is the oldest among Falun Gong practitioners who are peacefully appealing. She said, "I come here to call on Jiang Zemin to stop killing Falun Gong practitioners. It has been more than three years, we have been closely related with practitioners in Mainland China." A Montreal practitioner arrived in Ottawa at 3 p.m. in the afternoon who had been standing in the cold for more than three hours. He said, "We hope to immediately appeal to the international community to support good people and stop the killing. Though the activity will be conducted for three days, our appeals will not stop and are not a temporary action. We have been bringing attention to this situation for over 3 years now, but recently, the persecution is escalating, and the number of Falun gong practitioners who have been tortured to death is rapidly increasing. We must stop the perpetrators immediately." When talking about the lawsuit against the prime criminal, Jiang Zemin, he said, "It is a necessary outcome of our appeals over these past years. Because Jiang has committed the crime of 'Genocide.' Evidence shows that the entire persecution is caused by his twisted jealousy. He can't tolerate that many people are cultivating themselves to be good, so he launched this inhuman persecution."

CJOH/CTV, New Tangren TV Station and reporters from the Epoch Times came to conduct interviews. One of the coordinators of the activity Ms. Dai said in an interview, "One of the reasons that Hitler's 'Genocide' against the Jewish community was not stopped immediately during the World War II is that people didn't realize the depth of that persecution during the time it was being committed. Today, we come here to expose the Jiang regime's killing of Falun Gong practitioners. We hope people of the world will stand with us to help stop this suppression of innocent citizens and stop the persecution. We insist the criminals be brought to justice."

After group sending forth righteous thoughts, the practitioners read the statement in both Chinese and English. As the curtain of night fell, a row of small lotus flower lamps looked especially sacred and pure in the snow.
