Reports of Practitioners Illegally Detained and Imprisoned in Forced Labor Camps in Guiyang City, Guizhou Province

Tang Wenzhen, female, from Sanqiao, Guiyang City

In early November 2002, police put her in the Lannigou Brainwashing Center. No further information about her since then. [Note: Lannigou Brainwashing Center was created just before the opening of the 16^th Party's Congress]

Doctor Han Wei, female, from Affiliate Hospital of Guizhou Industry University

She was arrested for spreading truth-clarifying materials and was imprisoned in the Zhongba Women's Forced Labor Camp in Guiyang. Her term is one year.

Mr. Xiao, 75, retired worker from the Ninth Water and Electricity Bureau of Guiyang City

He was detained for fifteen days for appealing for Falun Gong in Beijing after July 22, 1999 [when the nationwide persecution of Falun Gong started]. On October 9, 2002, he was arrested for posting truth-clarifying materials. Police detained him in Baihuashan Detention Center. Mr. Xiao went on a hunger strike for three days to protest the mistreatment. He was unconditionally released on October 12. In early November, Mr. Xiao was found missing. His whereabouts are still unknown.

On October 29, 2002, she was arrested and is currently detained in Huaxi Detention Center in Guiyang for spreading truth-clarifying materials.

The whole family has undergone prolonged persecution because of their firm belief in Falun Gong. In early November 2002, the police came to arrest them. They successfully escaped by sending forth righteous thoughts. Currently, the family has been forced to become homeless and travel from place to place to avoid further persecution.

Sun Meiying and Liu Ying, female, over 40 years old, workers at Guiyang Mines

In March 2002, they were persecuted in Huaxi Brainwashing Center for their belief in Falun Gong, but they did not give up. In June 2002, they were sent to Zhongba Brainwashing Center and later sentenced to two-year terms in a forced labor camp.

In October 2002, he was kidnapped on the way home from work and detained in the Lannigou Detention Center.
