Belated News: Two Dafa Practitioners from Neijiang City, Sichuan Province, Tortured to Death

Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Sun Yongde, 40 years old, was an employee of a tobacco company. He used to suffer from liver disease with ascites, but he miraculously recovered and became a healthy person after taking up the practice of Falun Dafa. He twice went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa and was detained each time he came back. In November 2000, he was detained again and endured inhumane torture. He was very weak and had blood in his stool. Seeing that he was in very poor condition, the police released him. After he returned home, his ascites recurred and he passed away several months later.

Mr. Tang Jianping, in his 20s, was arrested for making truth-clarifying materials and flying truth-clarifying balloons. While in detention, he held firmly to his belief in Dafa and was thus subjected to both physical and psychological torture. During this time, his work unit fired him, and his wife was forced to divorce him, separating him from their 3-year-old son. After being held in the detention center for one year, he was transferred to Xinhua Labor Camp in Mianyang City, Sichuan Province. Later he was released on medical parole because of his extremely weak condition. After he returned home, he passed away in August 2002.

These once-healthy people both died at home, but their deaths were caused by the torture and other inhumane treatment they received in prison.
