Eastern Today (Taiwan Newspaper): Tears Flow on Statue of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara in Kaohsiung (Photo)

(Clearwisdom.net) Taiwan Eastern Today reported on January 17, 2003: a statue of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara in Kaohsiung City had something like tear stains below her right eye about one month ago. They remain even after it was rained on several times.

Below the right eye of the statue of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara, there is a dark red line like tear stains. From a distance, it appears as if a tear is falling from her eye. Tsung Zongjian, Director of South Star Planning Area Management Center, said that over a month ago something strange on the face of the statue was found and immediately everyone felt uneasy.

Over the past month, the tear stains on the face of the statue have not been washed away by rain, nor have they faded. Management personnel don't know why such a strange thing has happened and don't dare to wash them away.
