Seventy-Year-Old Retired Official Suffers Brutal Persecution in Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp, Beijing

(Clearwisdom.net) Dafa practitioner Wang Sili is a seventy-year-old retired government official. Since July 20, 1999, the "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems] has abducted him from his home several times.

In the brainwashing center he was isolated and subjected to brainwashing. Since 1999, he has not spent one Chinese New Year celebration with his family. In 2002 he was abducted to Unit No. 3 of the Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp. The police tried to force him to compromise by using long periods of sleep deprivation and physical punishment. On November 19, 2002, Wang Sili was sent to the strict physical training team for two months because he did not stand in line according to the unreasonable requirements of the police. As punishment, this seventy-year-old man was forced to squat for a long time outdoors by police officer Zhao Jiang, who is in his early twenties. Because he slept on the crowded and cold floor every day, the elderly man developed a persistent cough.

Wang's wife is also very ill at home. Now this old couple is forced to face the prospect of never seeing each other again.

Wang Sili asked the leader of the training center with tears in his eyes, "Why should I suffer such terrible persecution just for being a good person?"

Wang Sili explained the situation in writing to Zheng Zhenyuan, director of the Forced Labor Re-education Bureau, but did not receive any reply. Thus, he prepared to sue Unit No. 3. The police of the training center said, "You can do that in America, but not in China!" Starting on December 16, Mr. Wang Sili had no choice but to go on a hunger strike to protest.
