Poem: A Lotus Flower Lives

On one side of the world,áá
A tender young lotus flower greets the morning sun.
Its stock is straight and strong.
Its petals are upright and full of life.
Lightly in the air, its aroma mixes with the morning dew.
On the other side of the world, at the edge of a city, perhaps many cities,
The footsteps of policemen can be heard
Splashing through water, breaking branches, bending the grass.
While giving chase, they crush a single lotus flower.
In the moonlight, high in the sky beyond their reach,
All the cosmos can see --
There are those that gain life and there are those that lose life.
Into the night the chase goes on.
Destiny chases the police.
The policemen chase another.
Those that follow an evil path can never crush the spirits
Of those precious lotus flowers on that side of the world.
Their roots are deep.
Their predestined relationships span thousands of years,
Enduring all, bearing all, returning evil with good for the whole world to see.
When faced with torture, their compassion embraces Zhen Shan Ren.
When lied to, their lips speak only the truth, offering salvation to those speaking the lie.
When unjustly caused suffering and pain,
Their benevolence lifts them to a plane where no prison or guard
Could ever detain their hearts and minds.
Their place in the cosmos is without question.
Their journey nears completion.
In the twinkling of an eye all will see: the lotus lives forever...
