A Few Cases of Persecution Against Dafa Practitioners in Yichang City, Hubei Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Practitioner Mr. Pei Zhengren, age 60, has been a resident in Zhonglian Village of Gaobazhou Town in Yidu City of the greater Yichang Area, Hubei Province. In the year 2000, many practitioners from Yidu City stepped forward to peacefully appeal against the persecution of Falun Gong or to print and distribute Falun Gong flyers so as to clarify the facts. At the end of that year, the Yidu City police unduly arrested practitioners on a massive scale. Officers from the Yidu Public Security Bureau and the Gaobazhou Town Police Station searched Mr. Pei's house without any warrant. They illegally confiscated 500 Yuan [which is the average monthly income for an urban worker] from him and forcefully transferred him to detention. Mr. Pei was sent home in February of 2001 but was still under house arrest. The police constantly came to his home to harass him and on the evening of December 4, 2002. The Yidu City's "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems] suddenly took Mr. Pei away from his home and now his whereabouts are unknown.

Mr. Pei's daughter, Ms. Pei Yulian, was kidnapped on December 3, 2002 by the local police station.

Due to her distributing materials that clarified the truth about Falun Gong, Ms. Zhou Jahui from Yichang City was abducted by the police and is currently been detained at the No. 1 Detention Center of the city.

Another local practitioner, Ms. Tang Jiazhen was kidnapped by officials from the local community after she was found making a hand-copy of the Teacher's new article. She is now being persecuted at the Shayang Forced Labor Camp.

Zhou Xiangdong, head of the State Security Brigade of Yiling Public Security Branch, led a group of policemen to search and ransack female practitioner Zhang Yonghong's house. They also kidnapped her and another female practitioner who was from out of town. Ms. Zhang has been sent to the Shayang Forced Labor Camp.

Other police personnel who have ill-treated and persecuted practitioners are Hu Tao, the deputy director of the city's Yunji Police Station; and Xu Caixia, head of the State Security Brigade of Wujia District. These two persons are responsible for the evil plot to illegally detain and torture practitioners via forced labor and "re-education." A jail guard, Yang Bo, of the city's No.1 Detention Center has also been brutally beating and torturing Falun Gong practitioners.
