Introducing Falun Dafa in Redcliff, Australia

(Clearwisdom.net) January 12, 2003, was a day of blue skies and white, puffy clouds in the seaside town of Redcliff, Australia, which was hosting its annual festival. Near the cape, several Falun Gong practitioners from Brisbane were teaching new practitioners the Falun Gong exercises and distributing materials. The peaceful setting and tranquil activities attracted a good-sized group of westerners, who earnestly began learning the exercises. Some were quick to buy the Dafa books and video materials so that they would be ready to learn Falun Gong. Through conversation, we heard some very interesting stories.

A woman from Switzerland told how she must have come to this place specifically to learn about Falun Dafa. She had always been interested in Chinese culture and had learned a qigong practice before. Not long ago, something inside her had kept urging her to return to this particular Australian seashore. So she arranged to come back, and one Sunday morning she got up at 6 a.m. to walk along the seashore. It was raining outside, and she held an umbrella thinking, "Why have I come to walk along the seashore in the rain? What am I looking for?" Just like that, she stumbled upon our practice site and saw her friend, who had arrived a week earlier. Her friend immediately called her over to learn the exercises. Once she began learning, she had a wonderful experience. During the sitting meditation, her celestial eye opened, and she saw a green field and a shining object. She was convinced that she had finally found what she had been searching for.

Her friend, who had arrived earlier, reminded her of the importance of reading Zhuan Falun, explaining that one day she had been passing by and seen our practitioners. She stopped to talk, and they said such good things about Falun Dafa to her that she started to learn the exercises. Facing the sea and doing the exercises, she saw colors like the setting sun, rosy clouds and beautiful flowers. She felt light and airy, as if she were flying. She announced that she would tell all her friends, who were very passionate about Chinese culture and meditation, to learn Falun Gong.
