By a Dafa practitioner in Mainland China

(Clearwisdom.net) Last year I went to the south, and when I was talking to a practitioner about truth clarification and offering salvation to people, he said to me, "Your people in the north are good, because when you clarify the truth to them, even if they do not believe you, they do not report you to the police; but southerners are different in that when you clarify the truth to them, they will say something in favor of you on the surface, but right afterwards, they report you to the '610 Office.' [An agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems] This is especially bad if they are your colleagues in the same workplace, because it involves the issue of losing your job as a result. Therefore, we are waiting for the peaceful period prior to the great disclosure of the truth to clarify the truth on a large scale."

I think this statement contains an issue of how to look at things with righteous thoughts.

Regarding whether the peaceful period will appear or not, my understanding is that it would be great if it does, so that even more people can be saved. However, this is not the Fa that Master has taught us, but enlightenment shared by fellow practitioners at their levels. An editorial article published on Clearwisdom Net on May 8, 2002, "While Studying the Fa Well and Clarifying the Truth, Use Righteous Thoughts to Eliminate the Evil" also mentioned this issue. Whether this peaceful period will appear or not, we should not wait or depend on it, for this would hold-up truth clarification and saving people.

Recently, through studying Master's Fa lecture in Philadelphia, I believe that the peaceful period will not appear across Mainland China as a whole. However, this is not to deny that for those Dafa practitioners who have done well, their surrounding environment (including their workplace, family, neighbors, relatives and friends, old schoolmates and police stations, etc) is already such a peaceful environment.

Master said in, "Also in a Few Words,"

"Indestructible righteous faith in the cosmos's Truth forms benevolent Dafa disciples' rock-solid, Diamond-Like Bodies, it frightens all evil, and the light of Truth it emanates makes the unrighteous elements in all beings' thoughts disintegrate. However strong the righteous thoughts are, that's how great the power is. Dafa disciples are truly stepping forward out of ordinary humanness."

Such great Dafa disciples carry out Fa-rectification wherever they go and the place will be filled with compassion and kindness, and this is the peaceful environment to which we refer.

I think that we should do as Master said, "Don't wait, don't rely on others, and don't just hope for changes in external factors." ("To All Students at the Nordic Fa Conference") We should not place our hope on the disappearance of the head of the evil. We should "regard the Fa as the teacher," (Zhuan Falun) "put the Fa first" ("Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Boston") and we should rectify our surrounding environment with the righteous thoughts of Dafa practitioners to save more sentient beings.

The purpose of writing this article is to express my hope that fellow practitioners who share the same mentality as that practitioner in the south will not place their hopes on "'natural' changes, external changes, changes in the ordinary society, or in some favors that someone might do for us." ("Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Philadelphia, U.S.A.") Master told us, "Dafa disciples are now sentient beings' only, sole hope for salvation." ("Righteous Thoughts") We should rely on the power of Dafa and the rationality and wisdom we have cultivated from Dafa to clarify the truth, to offer salvation to sentient beings and to create more peaceful environments.
