Give Up Our Attachment to the End of Persecution By a Dafa practitioner
(Clearwisdom.net) I was deeply touched when I read "Teaching the Fa at
the 2002 Fa Conference in Philadelphia, U.S.A.," "A little while back a lot of
students were thinking: "The Chinese Communist Party is going to hold its 16th
Congress soon. If that head demon in China, that wretch of the earth, steps
down, then won't our Dafa's good name be restored? Who'd want to inherit that
burden...But if everybody thinks that way, then what kind of situation will
there be among the larger group of Dafa disciples? It'll be a major disruption,
a strong attachment..." Looking at Teacher's article, I analyzed myself and saw
I also had this kind of thinking. Minghui had published practitioners' articles
on this issue, but I feel we didn't pay enough attention. I realized that my most fundamental attachment is the attachment to the end [of
persecution]. Since the persecution first began, I have been thinking about
the end of persecution and what time Dafa's reputation would be restored.
Whenever something happens in the ordinary human society, human notions would
pop up such as my attachment to spring and autumn. Later, I grew attached to the
"42 months" mentioned in the Revelation of the Bible, and then I was attached to
the 16th Congress. The result of every attachment was that everything developed
in the opposite direction than I had expected. Looking back, I realized that Teacher has been doing away with our
attachments in his lectures for nearly a year, and the scriptures became more
and more clear. Teacher said, "Absolutely don't think about any favors the old
forces might do for us, or about how the ordinary society might help us."
"Poison is just poisonous, and if you want it to stop being poisonous it can't
do that. So when you look at it that way, we shouldn't have any fantasies about
the evil forces and those evil people who are persecuting Dafa." "Since you're
Dafa disciples, you shouldn't put your hopes in so-called "natural" changes,
external changes, changes in the ordinary society, or in some favors that
someone might do for us." "Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in
Philadelphia, U.S.A." Cultivators all know that an attachment to the end [of the persecution]
is an attachment, however, sometimes we can't help but ask, "How do we eliminate
this attachment? How do we solve the omission in our whole body in order to
improve as a whole?" My personal understanding is this: Study the Fa more. First, understand it from the perspective of Fa
principles. Individual practitioners should look inward and so should the whole
body. During Fa conferences and the exchanges among fellow practitioners it may
be more thorough and deeper when we understand the issue in a larger situation.
Fellow practitioners inside and outside China, as well as incarcerated
practitioners, should communicate as much as the conditions allow. Secondly, maybe we should bring common issues existing among practitioners to
the attention of Minghui and Clearwisdom, to remind practitioners of our
shortcomings, help each other in Fa study and cultivation, exchange and improve,
so that we pay more attention. Please benevolently point out anything inappropriate. Posting date: 1/28/2003 |
