How My Daughter Chen Xiaoling Was Persecuted to the Point of Mental Collapse In Brainwashing Classes

(Clearwisdom.net) In May 1997, my daughter Chen Xiaoling and I were fortunate to obtain Falun Dafa. Before that, my daughter had been ill for many years. She had been taking medication on a daily basis and had seen many doctors of both Western and Chinese medicine, but her health had not improved and she remained very weak. At 1.7 meters (approximately. 5.4 ft) tall, she weighed less than 100 pounds, and her spirits were always low. After practicing cultivation for only a few months, however, she experienced dramatic changes in her thinking, personality and health. All her diseases were gone and her spirits were raised. Her weight increased to over 120 pounds, and her skin became delicate, fresh and pinkish white. Also, we conducted ourselves according to Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance and became considerate to others, looking inside to see our shortcomings in every matter. Therefore, we gained more agreeable temperaments and got along better with others.

As we just regained confidence and were ready to embrace a bright future and happy life, the Jiang regime started viciously slandering Falun Dafa and persecuting millions of Falun Gong practitioners who had benefited both physically and spiritually from the practice. On July 19, 1999, my daughter and I went along with other practitioners to Beijing to appeal to the government about the true situation of Falun Dafa. The petition offices of the Central Government and State Council in Beijing are specifically in charge of appeals from the general public from all over the country. In addition, China's Constitution stipulates that every citizen has the right to appeal to the government. However, the Jiang regime openly violated the Constitution and arrested all Falun Gong practitioners who went to appeal in Beijing. To prevent the practitioners from appealing, police set up many checkpoints on all roads leading to Beijing. My daughter, other practitioners and I were detained at a checkpoint and afterwards transferred to our local police station. At the police station, we were interrogated, recorded and treated like criminals. After that, we were detained in our workplace and forced to watch TV programs slandering Dafa. We were cursed at, not allowed to sleep, and forced to write "guarantee letters" saying that we would no longer practice Falun Dafa, and turn in Dafa books. Seeing as we did not cooperate with their orders, the police threatened us and sent us into two separate brainwashing classes.

In the brainwashing class, they forced Falun Gong practitioners to watch TV programs slandering Dafa, and cursed us loudly. Sometimes this happened for days and nights continuously and the practitioners were not allowed to sleep. They attempted to break Falun Gong practitioners' wills in order to force us to give up the practice. The unseen terror brought tremendous mental and psychological pressure to and inflicted severe trauma on my daughter, who had just graduated from school. After my daughter was released from the brainwashing class, the last one in her group, she became emotionally unstable, and often became dizzy, got headaches, nightmares, and had other symptoms as well. The various vicious methods used in the brainwashing class severely damaged her mind. Since then, I have gone to Beijing to appeal and to validate the goodness of Dafa several times and as a result was illegally detained, losing my job and salary as well. The police repeatedly came to harass me in my home and ransacked my home several times.

One morning in January 2001, a supervisor from my workplace requested me to pay a visit to the administrative office, which I did not do. Then, I got a phone call tipping me off that police had arrived downstairs to arrest me. After a while, several policemen started knocking on my door. I firmly refused to open the door and told them there's nothing wrong with being a good person and elevating one's moral standard with Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance, and that the police were wrong in willfully arresting good people. Meanwhile, I kept clarifying the truth about Falun Dafa to them. By noon, more police arrived to knock on my door. The supervisors in my workplace also assisted the police in installing sentry posts around my building to keep watch on me around the clock. Eventually, however, I left home under Master's protection and have been drifting around homeless since.

After I was forced to leave home, the police repeatedly went to my home to harass and intimidate my daughter (my husband has passed away and she lives alone at home). Without my care and under great mental pressure and concern for my safety, my daughter's mental condition deteriorated rapidly.

Recently, as I learned, in order to shirk the responsibility for my daughter's mental breakdown and to further persecute Dafa, the "610 Office" (an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems) is planning to make a TV program to attribute my daughter's abnormal mental condition to practicing Falun Gong and to depict my leaving home as ignoring my care-needing daughter, grand daughter and family members for the sake of defending the Fa.

Just because we wanted to speak the truth and because we refused to give up cultivating Dafa and Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance, we have suffered such severe persecution, and my family has been broken apart. If there had not been the persecution from the Jiang political gang, we would have been working normally, contributing to society, and living in a harmonious family.

Here, I'd like to tell all "610 Office" personnel and the policemen: Leave a way out for yourselves! Stop committing bad deeds and deceiving the people; immediately release all Falun Gong practitioners currently under detention! Treat Dafa practitioners who tell you the truth nicely; and finally, I hope you learn the truth soon and then have a bright future.

I also call upon all kind-hearted people to condemn and stop the crimes committed by Jiang's totalitarian regime, and hope that international human rights organizations pay close attention to China's notorious human rights conditions. All people with a sense of justice in the world: Please extend a helping hand to end this vicious persecution.
