Hewan Forced Labor Camp Officials Subject Falun Dafa Practitioners to Brutal Brainwashing in Hubei Province
December 17, 2002
(Clearwisdom.net) The Hewan Forced Labor Camp in Wuhan City, Hubei Province
and the local "610 Office" [a bureau specifically created by the Chinese
government to persecute Falun Gong. It has absolute power over each level of
administration in the Party, as well as over the political and judiciary
branches] have continued to run intensive brainwashing sessions. It has
been four months since they first started, and each session runs for about 40
days. Composed mainly of policemen from the No. 2 Brigade of the special
assignments unit of the Hewan Forced Labor Camp, the group included Han Yulong,
leader of the No. 2 Brigade; deputy leader Chen Yong (who has now been
transferred to No. 3 Brigade) and deputy leader Lei Changwen. The group also
included policemen Zhang Yi, Li Jinsong, Li Jing, Wang Weimin, the vicious Liu
Tongyu, leader of the brainwashing sessions Ming, Director Li and Director Zheng
of the local "610 Office." They used collaborators, former Falun Gong
practitioners who have gone astray due to brainwashing and torture, to verbally
and physically abuse the practitioners and deprive them of sleep.
In order to keep information from going out of the labor camp, they sent
those who have been sentenced to longer terms to the brainwashing center,
leaving behind those with short terms. The practitioners were sent to the second
floor of the confinement quarters for brainwashing, with two inmates responsible
for each practitioner. They shadowed the practitioners when they ate, slept or
went to the washroom, monitoring them 24 hours a day and not allowing them to
communicate with other practitioners. There are nine rooms on the second floor, seven of which were set aside for
practitioners and their guards. All the connecting doors between the rooms were
shut. When one practitioner went to the washroom, the other doors were closed to
prevent practitioners from having eye contact. The guards force the
collaborators to beat the practitioners, while they try to appear to be kind and
gentle later. They're hoping in vain to break down the practitioners' will.
The police had the collaborators talk to the practitioners until 2-3 o'clock
in the morning, and then they would wake them up before 6 a.m. They would then
bombard the practitioners with lies for prolonged periods of time in hopes of
wearing them down.

List of Policemen Who Are Responsible for the Persecution
Han Yulong, team leader of No. 2 Brigade. He intercepted winter clothes meant
for practitioners from their relatives. He said, "I don't beat them up, but
whatever else that can reform them, I will not hesitate to do."
Liu Tongyu forced the practitioners to remain standing, deprived them of
sleep, and directed inmates to physically abuse the practitioners.
Chen Yong and Lei Changwen were in charge of the group formed specifically to
brainwash practitioners.
Policeman Zhang Yi sent practitioners to solitary confinement and forced them
to stand or squat for extended periods of time. He was behind a lot of the
tactics used to threaten and deceive the practitioners. He told the
practitioners, "If you don't reform, we will send you to the Shayang Forced
Labor Camp."
