Political and security section chief Zhang Xujin of Zaoyang City Police Department, Hubei Province was assigned to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Falun Gong practitioners and their family members were severely injured by the persecutors. In late July of 2002, Zhang was involved in a traffic accident, and his nose, face and arms were badly injured. He is undergoing treatment at a hospital.

There is a school in Rangdong Town, Dengzhou City, Henan Province. The principal, Gao Jingxin, is in his forties, and he could not distinguish good from bad. In late 2000 he cursed Dafa at a staff meeting and asked all students to sign a form against Dafa. The next spring he suddenly suffered from a stroke. After treatment at a hospital, he is now still paralyzed on one side of his body.
