Dafa Practitioners Zhao Dongfang, Sun Weimin and Others in Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province, Are Illegally Sentenced to Long Prison Terms

Recently in Qiqihar city, Heilongjiang province, several Dafa practitioners were illegally sentenced to long prison terms because they were not willing to give up their belief in Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance, and stop practicing Falun Gong. Among them, Zhao Dongfeng was sentenced to at least nine years in jail; Sun Weimin and Li Shunjiang were each sentenced to nine years in jail; An Jingtao was sentenced to five years in jail; Li Zhendong was sentenced four years in jail; Zheng Lianqing was sentenced eight years in jail.

The Qiqihar Judicatory Bureau decided to send them to Tailai county jail, Harbin city jail or other jails. The No. 1 detention center in Qiqihar city, which imprisoned these Dafa practitioners, demanded 240 Yuan [Chinese currency, the monthly salary for an average Chinese urban worker is about 500 Yuan] from these Dafa practitioners' family members for "transportation expenses." If they refused to make the payment, the detention center threatened to deny them visitation rights. The detention center then gave unofficial receipts to these family members.
