Long Prison Sentences Given to Falun Dafa Practitioners in Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province to Persecute Them Further

On November 9, 2001, the Court in Xihou District, Nanchang City illegally sentenced more than ten Falun Dafa practitioners. Falun Dafa practitioners Chen Baozhi, Wang Zhaoping, and Wang Baohua were sentenced to 11 years in prison; Sun Wenzhang, a lecturer at the University of Agriculture was sentenced to 9 years; Li Xiaoqing to 8 years; Lai Hui to 7 years; Zheng Min to 6 years; Huang Dongan, a graduate student to 5 years; Zhang Dianzhen to 4 years; Zhang Li, Wang Yuanhe, and others to 3 years. Even some private business owners who had printed some Falun Dafa truth-clarifying materials were sentenced to 3 years of imprisonment. Currently they are all being detained in the Women's Prison and Yuzhang Prison, both in Jiangxi Province.

No one is able to look after Wang Zhaoping's two daughters. Lai Hui's family was already very poor when he was sentenced to prison and his child had just been born. His wife has a disability and is unemployed. His entire family, including his parents, wife and child are dependent on him and his repair business. Huang Dongan has an 80-year-old father, a 3-year-old child and a younger brother who is ill and bedridden. Huang Dongan is the sole provider for his family.

Chen Jian, Xiao Yuanguang, and Pang Xiaohua who had been illegally sentenced in December 1999 came back to Fa-rectification after they got out of prison. After the tribulations, they have become more clear-headed and steadfast. Although the police proposed that Pang Xiaohua's prison term be extended by 3 years, his righteous thoughts completely destroyed the arrangement of the evil old forces and his case was rejected due to lack of evidence. Chen Jian has parents that are over 80 years old. He is very steadfast; he was placed in confinement for more than 20 days. Xiao Yuanguang was forced to do heavy labor until 2:00 or 3:00 AM, lasting over 20 hours every day.

Also, according to the latest information, Chen Baozhi was brutally tortured and her legs were crippled from the beatings she received in prison.
