On September 26, 2003, an Epoch Times reporter interviewed Mr. Stuart Patt, spokesman of the U.S. State Department, with regard to the illegal detention of U.S. citizen Charles Li.

Mr. Patt said, "On September 25, I accepted appeal letters from various places across the county on behalf of the state department. These letters expressed their special concerns to Charles Li case." He continued, "We understand their concerns."

Since the car tour to rescue Charles Lee started one month ago, the media has been paying more and more attention to the illegal detention and sentence of Charles Li. More and more people, from civilians to government officials, from representatives to senators, are calling for his immediate rescue.
