When I first began clarifying the truth by calling China, none of my calls went through. This is because I didn't take it seriously. Later on, because of encouragement from fellow practitioners and the low cost of prepaid phone cards, I tried again.

After finding pages of City Council members' phone numbers in the yellow pages, I placed a lot of phone calls, but in many instances the other party just hung up when they heard "Falun Gong." In the beginning, I thought it was okay: although they hung up on me, at least they learned the fact that there are Falun Gong practitioners in Singapore. But I turned impatient after having so many people hang up on me. So I flipped to the page with police department phone numbers. I was cursed from the other end on my first call and the situation lasted. I was very frustrated and I sensed that my attitude was not righteous.

I found myself passively enduring the fact that they hung up on me. The old forces were taking advantage of my gaps. I just casually joined this telephone-calling project, without realizing that it is our historic mission, as Dafa practitioners, to save more sentient beings. What is more, Teacher showed his approval of telephone-calling:

"Every phone call from our students shocks them to the point that they can't sleep at night, they're that afraid."

Dafa practitioners are solemn and dignified. People cannot just hang up on them as they please.

Teacher said

"Certain cultivators who have grasped Dafa to different degrees are showing different degrees of steadfastness, and how they currently perceive the overall situation of the Fa-rectification is different, too. The different states of their cultivation result in their different perceptions. Some might think the situation is grim; for some people the situation might seem to have already eased up; and some people might think that it's precisely a great opportunity to save sentient beings and clarify the truth. People's different grasps of and comprehension of the Fa lead to different perceptions of the current situation, and all that's happening is targeting different human thoughts. Those who do well will change the environments around them, and those who do poorly will make the environments around them change according to their states of mind. Dafa practitioners have different states of mind, so they have different perceptions of the environment, and that's why the way each person acts is different. The true situation, as I see it, is that the evil old forces want to do what they want to. To do well is to not walk down the path arranged by the old forces; the goal is to not allow the old forces to take advantage of your gaps."

To my surprise, after adjusting my understanding, I talked with a policeman for almost 30 minutes. In the end, he told me he was the deputy in that department. The next policeman chatted with me for a long while, too. He didn't want to end our conversation and was eager to learn more about Dafa. He showed respect towards us and said "it must be hard for you." I replied, "It's even harder for practitioners in China. They are telling you the truth and suffering from your persecution at the same time. Please treat them nicely!" This was the first time I clarified the truth about Dafa to policemen for a long period of time.

Over the next two days, I asked for another hundred phone numbers from fellow practitioners and made almost 70 calls. There were seniors, children, students, policemen and so on. This time, I found I was calm and gentle when making phone calls.

No matter what attitude they had toward me, I just clarified the truth about Dafa to them calmly and gently. No matter what subjects were brought up, I could always deliver the truth about Dafa to them. And most of them were willing to listen. We chatted like friends. Many of them talked with me as long as 10 to 20 minutes. My wisdom kept flowing forth like a spring.

This situation matched what Teacher said in ("Teaching and Explaining the Fa at the Metropolitan New York Fa Conference"):

"Question: In clarifying the facts I often feel that I lack wisdom. Is it because my cultivation state isn't good enough?

"Teacher: When you lack wisdom it's usually caused by your being anxious, being anxious in your mind to do something, giving it too much importance, and thereby developing a different type of attachment. Actually, with a lot of things if you calmly and gently talk to people and handle those things rationally, you'll find that your wisdom will flow forth like a spring, and every sentence of yours will get right to the point, and every sentence will speak the truth. As soon as you become attached or anxious, though, or have some strong intention, your wisdom is gone, and that's because at that time you've come over to the human side again, right? You should try your best to use righteous thoughts and try your best to be in the state of a cultivator, and the results will be excellent."

Actually, it's the same when you do other things. With righteous thoughts your mind isn't limited, your thinking will be vast and broad, and your wisdom won't be restricted."
