Earlier this year, a Falun Dafa practitioner was being publicly tried in a northern city in China. The practitioner nobly defended himself with a speech full of wisdom and facts. He exposed the evils and clarified the truth of Falun Dafa, leaving the judge and court officials unable to think of a way to respond or refute him. The judge eventually postponed the trial. After the courtroom spectators had all left, five Chinese characters were found on the back of every seat that said, "Falun Dafa is good!" One can easily imagine what a shocking sight that must have been for the courtroom spectators. Since then, no public trials of Falun Dafa practitioners have taken place in that city.

Recently, the combined efforts of the "610 Offices"* of the Licang District of Qingdao City, the Politics & Law Committee and the local police illegally detained Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhang Wanxia.

Instructed by the "610 Office" in Jilin Province, Fanjiatun Town Police have been following Falun Dafa practitioners around, in order to trap them, and they have also been illegally searching their homes. Consequently, on September 20, 2003, Wang Ming was illegally arrested while at home. Currently, a large number of people have been organized from each work unit, neighborhood committee and police substation to trail and abduct Falun Dafa practitioners. The focus of their search is on all main streets, residential buildings and closed-circuit television stations. These deputized vigilantes are equipped with cellular phones and handcuffs. There is a three hundred Yuan bounty provided for each practitioner they abduct. [Five hundred Yuan is the average monthly salary of an urban worker in China.] Electronic monitoring equipment has been set up in residential areas, as well. We hope that upon seeing this news, practitioners in Gongzhuling City will begin sending forth righteous thoughts at seven, eight and nine o'clock sharp every evening, in order to eliminate the elements that exert their evil influence from alternate dimensions.

According to reliable sources, the Public Security Bureau will search for Falun Dafa practitioners in a wide sweep of Jilin Province during the National Day [October 1] holidays. They intend to force practitioners in their homes to write so-called "Guarantee Statements"** or else be sent to forced labor camps. We hope that practitioners in this province think and act righteously, while being especially mindful of security issues.

Recently, Cao Zhixia was promoted to the new head of the "610 Office" in Handan City. At her previous position in She County, she had volunteered to work at the "610 Office" in an attempt to enhance her reputation by persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners, in hopes of getting promoted to a municipal position in Handan City. As soon as she started her new job, she instructed each police substation to find two Falun Dafa practitioners to write the so-called "Three Statements," and send those who refused to write them to a brainwashing center.

We suggest that fellow practitioners in Handan City increase their study of the Fa, send forth righteous thoughts more frequently, acting together as one body. Let's eradicate all the evil arrangements of the old forces, thus eliminating all persecution from the "610 Office" and the brainwashing center.

Cheng X, Director of the Lushuihe Town Vice Squad in Fusong County, has long been involved in trailing Falun Dafa practitioners and then illegally searching their homes. On September 25, 2003, he arrested six practitioners, four of whom are currently detained at the Fusong Detention Center. Ms. Min Shaoyun, a primary school teacher, was arrested for a note found at her home that clarified the truth of Falun Dafa.

Ms. Xing Yunfeng was also arrested for some truth-clarifying materials discovered in her home, which left her son alone at home. In order to find out the source of the truth-clarifying materials, agents of the Lushuihe Public Security Bureau brutally beat Ms. Xing Yunfeng for an entire night. Currently, she is still subject to torture.

Practitioners Gao and Li, both in their 60s, were recently arrested. On that day, Gao was confined to an iron cage. Details will be forthcoming.

At 10:00 a.m. on September 10, 2003, Jishu Town Police officers Ren Changqiu and Sun Jiku, together with other policemen from Shulan City, illegally searched the home of 40-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner, Mr. Shi Zhifang, and arrested him. Two sisters, Xie Shuhong and Xie Shumei, were illegally arrested as well.

Since 2002, Falun Dafa practitioners have been putting up many truth-clarifying banners along the main streets, in schools, at residential areas, from the tops of bridges and at Changchun Airport. Every time they saw the banners, the officials were shocked and sent out policemen to investigate, household by household, but always in vain. Eventually, they had to tell the policemen in charge of each area, "Remove the banners yourselves." Practitioners' righteous thoughts and behavior have made the officials realize they have no control over practitioners.

Several days ago, Li Zhirong, a Xi'an City Falun Dafa practitioner in his 50s, was illegally arrested while distributing truth-clarifying materials in Lantian County.
